GBFood was exceptional
GBPleasant, cosy country pub. Parking (could get tight at peak times). Friendly, easygoing staff. Comfortable room, situated in a separate block. Decent full English breakfast, with other options.
We were a bit surprised that the property isn't located in Ilminster, but in a village three miles away, called Broadway. (On Booking, the pub is listed as just 'The Bell', and not by its full name, 'The Bell at Broadway'.)

Rooms could be soundproofed a bit more. Otherwise, the room was lovely.

Finding last guests pooh wasn't pleasant but rest of room was clean. Building site out the back now no fields and you're in a motel style block next to hotel so step straight out into the open from room. evening food service awful, ordered without being told half of the listed items not available, young waitress very apologetic. Breakfast limited but cooked fresh for me, but second morning it wasn't being served until 8.30 and advised by a very unapologetic and quite aggressive manager it wouldn't change and no discount as I had to leave for work appt earlier but had it at 7.30 the day before. Offered to get chefs to cook something and leave it outside room, ridiculous suggestion as outside in an uncovered area and it was raining!

We could hear the people staying in the room above and next door to ours.

Only problem was a mix up at breakfast, but this was quickly resolved
GBStaff so friendly and attentive, food was delicious, room very comfy, the dog received so much fuss. The village itself was so beautiful, we lived just walking about checking out how stunning everything was.
Couldn’t fault a show for thing. It was a fantastic stay.
