Good value for money

The only let down was it Could do with an upgrade on sofa as not the most comfortable to sit on and looked like it was falling apart a bit

The apartment is siuated in a convenient place for buses, trains shops entertainment. However the information booklet needs expanding as details are not sufficient. Rubbish disposal was difficult as there is no bin outside and the dumpster referred to was not available until the day before we left the property. We were there 21 days.

The property was clean, and for the most part had what we needed for a 2 night’s stay. Very close to the beach too.

The sofa bed was missing bedding, I phoned at 5pm when we realised, but the staff at Host & Stay were not able to come to a solution that evening. We had to make- shift needing using beach towels we’d brought. The second day someone did bring a clean sheet, and we happened to be in the flat when they came by. It I never received any communication from Host & Stay to say how they were going to resolve the problem or that there even would be a solution. By the time the sheet had arrived, we’d already spent our morning buying a new sheet for our child to use. We wasted our morning because we didn’t know if we’d have a sheet for that evening. The bed was only a double, which isn’t the worst, but certainly not ideal for a couple. Unfortunately, it was not a comfortable bed, and resulted in poor sleep. Finally, I would have liked at least one extra bin bag so that we could have cleared all our rubbish from the flat. As it was we had to use a carrier bag to get rid of some waste. There are also no street bins provided. The property notes day to use dumpsters at the end of the road, but there are no allocated bins for the property. A kind neighbour let us use their bin, but mentioned that guests using the flat are always using other bins that don’t belong to the property and are using incorrect bin bags too. It’s disappointing to be upsetting the locals as visitors, and though they didn’t blame us, they were obviously not happy with the property management.

The location

We were very disappointed, the apartment was not as expected, it is in need of a good clean and update. There were lots of marks on the carpet and walls, the crockery wasn’t clean, the duvet was old. The sofa bed was very old and uncomfortable. The apartment was very hot with no fans provided. The double bed was very small. The apartment was so disappointed that I had to arrange for children to stay with a relative who lived nearby that we had been visiting.

Amazing location, a lot of info was shared pre-stay as well. The wifi was decent and the flat was tidy enough with a nice kitchen.

To start with the address is wrong - it's flat 8A not 8, very confusing! The sofa is incredibly uncomfortable, I can't imagine how someone would sleep on that. We also stayed over Pride Weekend (great fun!) so the cost was really not in line with the quality. Hosts wanted an additional £20 as a damage waiver - which I think is incredibly rude. We exchanged some messages and they were not interested in removing the fee. So we paid at least 100% over the regular rate and the extra £20 was the cherry on the top for me.

The property was only a short walk from the venue that we were attending, so it was convenient. The bed was fairly comfortable, so we slept well enough. Due to the proximity to the beachfront, we were able to go for a stroll in the morning before checking out.

Unfortunately, for the standard of the property, the price was extortionate. The initial impression when we arrived was one of concern, as the property, as well as the road it is on, didn't appear to be particularly well kept. Inside could do with new carpets and a deep clean throughout. Again, for the price, you'd expect better.

It was right next to the station and close to the beach (few minutes walk). It was on a quiet residential street with corner shops nearby.
