Lucky Pearl Beach Resort

The staff is very friendly. The location is perfect, just two minutes walk from Turtle beach. Local pancakes for breakfast were also cool.

There is no hot water in the property. It’s ok, because it’s hot outside, but in case you need it, it’s a disappointment. The territory around leaves much to be desired - garbage, random utilities on the ground.

- Owners were all very nice. - Room was very large with separate dining area and kitchen.

- Although there are ceiling fans in the room, the humidity was too much so the floor was always wet and the bed and pillows felt somewhat damp. - Beachfront area had a lot of old construction materials laying around it. - The area for food preparation did not look clean or inviting to consume food from so we declined the complimentary breakfast. - We did not have any water in the room after a long day of walking and spending time on the beach. We were told that the city had turned it off but we could "shower" in a large bucket of water in the entrance/dining area (there were also people eating next to the bucket). As this was obviously not a solution for us, we waited for it to be turned back on. When it did come back on a couple hours later, the water was coming out of the faucets and shower completely brown. After another hour of waiting, we tried it again and it was starting to get clearer. Finally after another hour, it was clear enough to shower. - Price just doesn't match what is given. If the price was cut in half, it would make more sense to stay.

The family was very lovely and catered to all our requests, such as a late breakfast. The food was lovingly prepared by the mom and was delicious. The location was very quiet and the rooms equipped with the essentials. They even got us a transport to Ella. We loved staying here

The access to the beach is a little difficult and the balcony is still very untidy. Everything was cobbled together a bit spartan. It didn't bother us, but I can imagine that some won't like it

This was the coziest hotel we have ever stayed in. You don’t feel like you’re away from home or just a guest—it feels like you’ve temporarily come to stay with relatives. Every morning, they prepare a very, very delicious breakfast (of your choice) and patiently wait for you to wake up. And as soon as you come down, they immediately greet you and serve your meal before sending you off to the beach. By the way, right in front of the hotel, there is a paradise-like shore where you feel like you’re in a movie. However, the waves were quite strong, making it difficult to swim. But just a few meters to the right, there is a wonderful lagoon with cafés and comfortable beach facilities. On our first day, we were extremely tired and slept the entire day, waking up only at night when all the stores were already closed. The next morning, the hotel owner told us that he had tried twice to wake us up and offer us dinner because it was raining, but we were sleeping so deeply that we didn’t hear a thing! 😂 I also clearly remember when we had to leave for an excursion at 3 AM. When we came down from our room, we saw that everyone was awake—they had even made tea for us to drink before we left! And when we came back, our room had been cleaned perfectly, just the way we wanted. I want to give a piece of advice to everyone visiting Sri Lanka—don’t choose luxury hotels where no one will interact with you, and the only attention you’ll get is in hopes of a tip. Choose a warm, welcoming place like this one, get to know this wonderful family, and believe me—you will take so much kindness back home with you. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality. There was no hot water, only warm, but it’s okay—the hospitality of the hosts made up for it.

The location of the accommodation is just perfect, right beside the ocean. The room is very big, comfortably enough and clean. The views from the windows can't be better. The Turtle Beach , grocery shops, few restaurants , a bus stop , all in a few minutes walking distance. The owners of the resort are lovely, polite, and friendly.
