Jungle Eco Lodge & Safari

We had an unforgettable stay at Jungle Eco Lodge, and it has truly been the highlight of our trip so far. We were welcomed with so much kindness by this lovely family, who made us feel at home from the very first moment. The lodge itself is impeccable – very clean, beautifully decorated, and located in a peaceful area away from the city. Our host kindly offered free tuk-tuk to show us the town. Thanks to his arrangements, we were also able to enjoy a safari at a very reasonable price, where we had the incredible chance to see elephants! On his recommendation, we also visited the famous Lion Rock, which was an amazing experience. One of the most special moments was a two-hour cooking class with the family, in their own kitchen. They welcomed us with open arms, using fresh ingredients from their garden, and taught us how to prepare traditional Sri Lankan dishes. It was a truly heartwarming and authentic experience. The whole family is always smiling, warm, and generous. We wholeheartedly recommend Jungle Eco Lodge 1000%! If you are looking for a place to stay in Sigiriya, don’t hesitate for a second. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the hospitality is simply unmatched.

Die Familie und die Kinder sind unfassbar lieb und zuvorkommend, man fühlt sich pudelwohl und der kleine Bungalow ist auch perfekt. Die Lage ist etwas abseits des Tourismustrubels, was wir sehr geschätzt haben. Wenn man etwas braucht, kann man sich jederzeit an die Familie wenden und sie können mit allem weiterhelfen. Und das Abendessen ist ein Traum! Wir wären gern noch länger geblieben. Es wird definitiv ein Highlight unserer Reise sein und wir werden diese liebe Familie in Erinnerung behalten. Wir können einen Aufenthalt bei Kumari sehr empfehlen. Das kleine Haus ist schön ruhig gelegen, aber mit dem TukTuk ist man in ein paar Minuten an allen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Umgebung. Wir haben viel über das Leben in Sri Lanka erfahren. Kumari gibt einem viele Ideen und organisiert alles, dabei handelt sie immer den besten Preis aus. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch das Frühstück und das Abendessen. Es ist außergewöhnlich gut und sehr abwechslungsreich, Kumari nimmt sich auch die Zeit, jede Speise genau zu erklären. Bei einer Sri Lanka Reise sollte man einen Aufenthalt bei Kumari nicht verpassen!

After somewhat difficult arrival because of the night rain and small car we had :-) we were kindly welcomed by our nice host Kumari, with whom we had an really interesting evening conversations during our stay. The room is nice and equipped. The breakfast was very good, freshly prepared, with local specialities. Located in a small settlement inside the jungle, one can really enjoy the nature around - and visit Sigiriya and surroundings.

The place was peaceful and calm, the hospitality was warm and true, the food was delicious , the host was so helpful and gave true advices , the room was clean

Cute and calm stay in a tropical garden of Kumari and her family, who have all been great hosts. Kumari shared a lot of local tips (with good English!), cooked amazing local breakfasts and dinner for very fair prices, arranged a local village tour, a scooter and driver to our next destination. The accommodation is clean and has a huge bed, A/C, a shower, and a batch of water bottles. Driving there is not an issue, but beware that the road is closed after 10 PM. Thank you and we'll definitely stay here again if we're in the area :)

The family was very friendly. They organised our dinner, a safari and a tour of local shops. Very recommended! Best stay and breakfast so far!!

An unforgettable place run by amazing hosts who truly put their heart into everything they do. The food – made with fresh ingredients from their own organic garden – was absolutely delicious, a perfect blend of flavors. Be sure to try their dinner, it’s a must! They also helped us arrange a safari trip where we had the chance to see many elephants. This place has a soul – it was hard to say goodbye. We also learned a lot about the local culture and history. Highly recommended!
