"Boat birthday"

10.0

The boat was fabulous. The area around, steps away from the town, restaurants and some great independent shops. We found staying here was 100% better than a hotel. I know if in Skipton again, this is the place I would want to stay.

Nothing to dislike

"Lovely narrow boat in a superb location. Something very different 👍"

9.0

Fantastic location in the centre of Skipton. The Boat has been expertly upgraded to provide a very functional kitchen, comfortable living area and two bedrooms. Paul was on hand to introduce the boat and was available throughout tuesday if anything was needed. Great host.

Double beds are small but there were only two of us … so we had a bed each.

"A great way to spend time away in a spotless and novel environment with friendly hosts."

10.0

Paul, the host, was very friendly and helpful. The boat was cleaned to the highest standard - our daughter who stopped with us works for the NHS and is very particular about cleanliness/hygiene and was first to comment on this aspect. We stayed on the boat for one night prior to a running event in Skipton and it met our needs perfectly.

The boat is on a sought-after mooring in a prime location but unfortunately the two pubs nearby can get a bit loud although this is no reflection on the host and the noise from the music did stop at 11:00ish and it was a Saturday night. Ordinarily, this this wouldn't have caused a problem but because we were preparing for a run the following day we went to bed about 10:30 and subsequently had a disturbed first hour. Only negative of the boat was that we didn't understand that the room temperature affected the hot water. Because it was mild and we didn't raise the thermostatic temperature we ended up with no hot water when we needed it. We mentioned this to Paul and he apologised for not ensuring the hot water had been switched on prior and suggested this was something he would manage better for future bookings.

A really quirky stay is what we wanted and it was what we got. Location was fantastic. Paul who showed us around was a knowledgeable and personable host.
