City Home Aurora

Excellent stay. Very nice apartment. Modern and convenient with all amenities. Would like to visit there in the near future. Got to see the aurora borealis during our visit in mid-september.

Because it was not clear where to pick up the keys, we contacted the owner by phone. We got three different phone numbers including one that was no longer connected. Finally found out that the apartment is rented by Hotel St. Elisabeth (they also own the place). So we got the keys there and paid for a private parking ticket at 200 NOK per day. This process should have been made clear much earlier so that we did not have to call 3 different phone numbers.

The apartments are located within 15 minute taxi ride from the airport (around $25 USD each way). You have to first stop at the main reception to pick up keys and the apartments are a short walk away (ask your taxi to wait while you pick up keys if you have a lot of luggage). You will get clear instructions from the host before arrival. The apartment is very spacious with a large living room/kitchen. The bathroom has a large sink, washer (no dryer), toilet and a large shower with doors (rare in Norway), but there is no place to put the soap or shampoo; Two bedrooms have a lot of space and full sized mattresses (not queen/king size), but pillows are too small and stubby. Wi-Fi is very fast (100 mbps) and there is a grocery store nearby along with a good Italian restaurant with pizza within a short walking distance. I can't think of a better place to stay when visiting Tromso for a night or for a week.

Pillows are too small. Shower room can use a small tray to place the soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Staff were accommodating.

Bed in main room was very poor quality. Other room was tiny and very unsuitable for 2 people No air conditioning as advertised. No tv programmed for channels.

Nice large rooms. Good communication. A problem with our flights meant we were 6 hours later than planned, but keysafe access info was provided (when asked). All worked well. Tidy clean apartment. Would stay again.

TV wasn't working, previous guest damaged remote. Blood stained pillow in cupboard.
