Blue Cabin Bridge Stores

It was in a nice location, right beside the river, and close to a large supermarket where I could re-charge my electric car easily. There was a radiator in the room which I was able to control myself, which was very useful, as I am used to living in a very hot house, and everywhere else seems cold in comparison. The owner was friendly and looked out for me as a solo, disabled traveller, and I was given assistance by either the other owner or a guest (I never found out which he was) to get my luggage in when I arrived, and out again when I left, which was most welcome. There was also some milk, bread, eggs, cereals butter and jam provided for a couple of days' breakfasts, which was most welcome, although I took food with me anyway.

When I made the booking, I assumed the accommodation was on the ground floor, but it was above a boat rental shop, and there was a narrow staircase, which curved around a corner, that I had to use to get to the accommodation. This was quite difficult with my crutches, abd I would not have mananged my luggage if I hadn't received the assistance that I got. I stayed for six nights, so I had a lot of clothes and food with me, but the room only had a tiny fridge which I just about fitted my food into, and the only sink was in the bathroom, meaning I had to do my washing up in there, which felt odd. Also there was no wardrobe or drawers to put my clothes into, only a few hooks and hangers on the wall, so I left my clothes in my suitcase on the floor for the entire week. This meant I had to move one of the two chairs that were on the floor, to make room for my case, and I had to put the chair on the raised bed. Also, the entire upstairs are seems very uneven and rickety, and the floor in the accommodation was very sloping.

Loved the room was so cosy and felt like a boat, efforts we’re definitely made to make if homely

Unfortunately there was very very loud music in the area which kept me awake most of the night so I didn’t have a rested asleep at all. Finally dozed off around 1.30 then was awake at 6 as had to leave early, Bathroom could have been cleaner also

Super quirky accommodation! The kids loved it. The hosts provided croissants and breakfast cereal as well as milk/eggs. We also hired a boat from them for a lovely trip up the river which is right outside the accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts!

Really enjoyed our stay here. A beautiful quaint place to stay. Our host Alison was fantastic and looked after us very well. Nice pub opposite that serves good food. Would highly recommend 🙂👍

Nothing not to not like about this place

My husband and I liked the quaintness of the property. For someone with movement issues the stairs would pose a problem because they were winding and extremely narrow!! We were impressed that there was a fridge with milk, croissants, butter and jam and there was also cereal and bread. With a microwave and toaster too. Alison was very hospitable and friendly, asking if we needed extra towels and giving us extra packets of butter. Giving us a map to borrow to help us find the wedding venue we were going too.

The bath didn't have a curtain so when I had a shower over the bath the floor got flooded. Also there was no bath mat. The toilet seat was broken, which I did mention when I left. The mattress on the bed was awful. My husband and I did not sleep very well.
