The Rock

The view and location is beautiful. We had a bit of rain so we didn't get to fully enjoy the small deck as much as we would have liked to but the views from the windows were still great. The house is cozy and the fireplace works very well to heat the place up. The bed is comfy and it is very quiet, even with very windy night. There is also a beautiful rocky bay a short walk from the property, through some native bush. Highly recommend taking the time to do that on your stay.

We had soup one night and couldn't find a ladle anywhere so something could add to the kitchen. There is also a beautiful bath but the guest booklet says showers are prefered due to water restrictions etc. Just noting this as I specifically book places that have baths so that I can have them, as it's a novelty for me. So if I then get to accommodation and bath feels out of bounds, I am quite disappointed. Also there is quite a bit of gravel road driving, as mentioned by host and other guests. It is windy and there is quite a lot of damage from storms etc, so one way areas around corners. We unfortunately had a car speeding around one of the corners towards us which we had to dodge. Just something to keep in mind to go very slowly and be alert.

The views were INCREDIBLE and the property was so cozy, we had such a great stay!

Beautiful location! Had everything you needed including pantry basics, board games and books. A great spot to get away and unwind from it all.

Limited wifi with payment needed for more.

There were wonderful views from every room in the house. The birdsong was very special. It was a 25 minute beautiful bush walk to the rocky seafront and a 12 minute drive to gorgeous sandy beaches. A perfect place to completely unwind.

We would have loved a bright light in the sitting room but realise that it would change the relaxed ambiance.

The Rock is beautifully located with stunning water views. The spaces are well appointed, kitchen has everything you need, lounge room is comfortable, bedrooms large and an amazing outdoor deck facing the views.

It is worth noting for those not familiar with the area, the closest groceries are a 35min drive away along mostly all unsealed gravel roads. The roads were fine to drive in the hire car.

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in diesem schönen Ferienhaus in Neuseeland. Alles war sehr sauber. Der Ausblick war beeindruckend, und obwohl es etwas abgelegen liegt, war genau das das Besondere – die Ruhe war unglaublich wohltuend. Paul war zu jederzeit erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir würden es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Even when it stormed two days straight and we couldn't go out, the comfy sofas, the good wifi, the stereo and the very well equipped kitchen let us feel right at home. We even saw a curious pair of owls outside and the view was simply stunning!
