We booked this property weeks in advance, looking forward to a peaceful trip after a long stretch of hard work. We reached out several times to confirm the check-in details, but we received no reply. Not a single message back. Still, we held on to hope and traveled nearly four hours to get there. Then, on the very morning of our stay, the landlord finally contacted us. Not with a welcome or check-in instructions, but to demand a £400 deposit, even though our booking only cost £125. He told us to pay him directly, completely outside of Booking.com’s policies. It felt like a trap. When we refused to hand over extra cash to someone we no longer trusted, he denied us entry to the property. We were left stranded. No room, no shelter, no compassion. Just empty streets and mounting stress. What makes it worse is that this man knows exactly what he is doing. I now understand why the negative reviews are so rare. He gets them removed. This was not just poor communication or a misunderstanding. This was calculated. Cold. Dishonest. He still has not returned our money. He took our booking, ruined our plans, and left us to deal with the emotional and financial fallout. Please, if you value your time, your money, and your peace of mind, do not book this property. No one deserves to be treated like such.
