The Spring Slad Valley Cotswolds

The cabin itself was fine - clean and tidy and looked exactly like what was shown in the photos. It was very small for two people but we were aware of that before we booked it.

We were very disappointed with the location - the description and photos of the property show it/describe it as a quiet peaceful location. Unfortunately it is very close to the other two cabins and we were very unhappy when a large group of people turned up on the Saturday and made a lot of noise. That was not what we expected. Also the area around the cabin wasn't well maintained - the grass wasn't cut and the bins were full of water. Also the track going up to the property was extremely difficult to get up with our van. A warning beforehand would have been helpful. Also the trees lining the track were very overgrown so we had to get out and cut them ourselves to get our van past them.

Although small, the cabin is well equipped and comfortable. There is a fully equipped kitchen, nice bed with a good mattress, effective air con. Location is very convenient for exploring Painswick and surroundings. It is very peaceful, if the weather is good, you can sit outside or open the foldable glass doors and listen to the birds singing. Laurie Lee Wildlife Way passes by the property and there is a laminated map provided in the cabin, which was nice.

Temperature regulator on the shower is broken and taped over, it is difficult to operate. The cabin cannot be locked from inside, and although the location is pretty safe, it made me slightly uncomfortable at night. Unfortunately on the third day of my stay the weather was just awful, it rained heavily all night and most of the day, so I left earlier and did not stay the last night as the cabin is tiny and it is difficult to dry wet clothes in such a small space.

Location was amazing, peace & quiet, not disturbed at all by anyone or anything! Lovely to hear and see nature! Walks were so lovely too!

Loved the location. Such a beautiful spot. The cabin was well played out and cosy. The host was helpful, and understanding when I told her I had accidentally broken a plate. We would love to go back again in a different season. If you love wildlife and peace this is a place to go.

The only gripe was the key kept falling apart. Plastic handle, and the shower kept going hot and cold without adjusting it. Aparr from that we loved it.

Was great to be in the countryside  peace and quiet, no one around great air con.

Cant say there was anything I didn’t like.

Location was good nice and scenic and quiet.

The key was left in the door when we arrived and we were not able to get the key out the door to lock it when we wanted to go out. Called the host to report this and was told that is the only key and no one goes up near there (not very helpful) so every time we went out we had to leave the key in the door which is not very safe particularly at night. We did not feel safe at night leaving the place unlocked with the key in the door outside so ended up going home on the first night due to this as was not possible to lock from inside due to key being stuck in the door outside. It’s a shame it could not have been resolved as it ruined our trip. The place also smelt of damp and there was mould in the shower on arrival.
