Veena Palace Group Of Houseboats

Absolutely everything! The location was perfect, 5 minute boat ride to the road but far enough away that it was complete silence. The staff were more like family at a time I needed that family feeling the most! Mr Firdaus is a great great man, now my uncle for sure. He made sure I used my time here well I even extended on my first night here as the service and vibe was just what I needed. I felt like royalty here for sure, everyone went that extra mile to ensure my time here was special. I was lucky enough to have a great day out with Firdaus and his family to a holy place and the largest fresh water lake in India. Firdaus and his team are so special. Narzia is a great great guy always going that extra mile. He has true service in his blood. I can’t wait to come again for the summer and do the Great Lakes hike. Now I feel like I have a true family in Kashmir. Comfy comfy bed, electric heater when it was chilly and even added a fire heating system for me to keep me warm. Food from Firdaus wife was super tasty and adhered to my vegetarian needs.

There is nothing not to like apart from not staying for months if I had the time

The location was great, the bed was big & comfy, extra blankets were provided as it was cold in the evenings. I did a day trip with Aqib to Sonamarg which was fantastic. There was a hot shower, the food was delicious and also very reasonable price, Firdous and his family are all lovely and Naseer was a brilliant host . I would recommend to stay here and hope that one day I will be back :)

I like the prices

It falls under the B category boat house. During rain, it may have some inconvenience.

I thought I would stay here for 1 or 2 nights but I ended up staying 7 nights! You have a good bed with hot water and the room is very clean. I personally really enjoyed the area which is much more charming than the main place on the lake where you just see houseboats lined up and very packed. However, what makes this place incredible, is the hospitality of the owner. He truly wants his guests to spend the most amazing time in Srinagar/Kashmir. I will never forget my stay at Veena Palace, Mr Firdous welcomed me as if I was family. This week was clearly one of the highlights of my 15-month trip around the world. Thank you for everything! (Also, the food prepared by her wife was sooo delicious!!)

Nothing, everything exceeded my expectations.

The two weeks I spent at the houseboat were wonderful! I enjoyed so much the calm atmosphere with all the greenery and water around, I enjoyed the boat rides to cross the lake and come to the houseboat and I enjoyed the nice company of Firdous and his family. Of course … you are here on a houseboat so you take the little blue boat every time when you come or go. And for sure Firdous or another family member will go with you or pick you up at the lake immediately. I loved that here it was just a small place, quiet and next to the family home. Firdous and I and even other travelers spent so many evenings together, talking, eating dinner, asking about Kashmir. So great and enjoyable. The room has everything you need, f.e. hot water and all time Wifi. I know when I come to Kashmir again, I also will visit Firdous and his family and his houseboat again. I loved my stay here.

At first I was skeptical if the WiFi would always work or if I would always be able to get off the houseboat or come back in the evening. But there were no problems at all and I could come and go as I wanted.
