Panta Rei resort

Awesome resort experience, great and friendly staff, tasty breakfast and very calming and enjoyable pool.

Hotel is located in a beautiful area, far from the main road and about a 10-minute walk from Kabalana Beach. Houses are stylishly decorated and very clean. It also has a very nice swimming pool and yoga area available all day for guests with mats and accessories. The entire hotel is run in a thoughtful manner, and the staff is very welcoming. The a’la carte breakfasts are a huge plus, lasting until 12:00, so you never have to rush. It could only be served a little earlier than 8:30 if you have early morning activities planned. The delicious fresh, cold coconuts are something we will never forget!

Nothing – everything about our stay was perfect, we wanted to stay for longer!

Asthetics of the room.

No view from the room. It did not feel like value for money. The resort itself is quite simple and located far from the main part of the city, so I expected a much calmer and quieter environment. However, there is frequent noise from trains passing by, which takes away from the sense of serenity. There are also many monkeys around the property. Early in the morning I was woken up by the noise they were making on the roof. Considering the high price I paid, the experience was disappointing. In my opinion, it is worth about half the amount charged, as the property is not as posh or luxurious as it claims to be. The food was also quite mediocre, despite being priced on the higher side.

We stayed four nights at Panta Rei and overall had a pleasant stay. The rooms and bathroom were clean and spacious, and the room was cleaned every day, which we appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and served à la carte—we could choose one breakfast and one drink from the menu each morning. The breakfast time was from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., which felt quite late for us, as we are more used to the typical breakfast hours of around 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. There was also a parking space available in front of the hotel, which was convenient.

There were, however, a few downsides. We noticed ants in the room during our stay. The train line is quite close to the resort, so we could hear the frequent trains passing by. On the last night, there was unfortunately a problem with the electricity supply, and we did not have power for some time. In addition, there was a quarrel in the neighborhood with very loud shouting, which disturbed the otherwise calm atmosphere.

Es war unsere erste Unterkunft in Sri Lanka und das Panta Rei Resort hat die Messlatte für alles was danach kam wirklich sehr hoch gelegt! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Unser absolutes Highlight: der Pool am Abend unter Sternenhimmel und umgeben von Glühwürmchen und das hervorragende Frühstück! Wir würden jeder Zeit wieder kommen!

Mir fällt wirklich nichts ein. Wenn es etwas gab, scheint es nichts gravierendes gewesen zu sein.

richtig tolles ambiente, super liebes personal das alle wünsche erfüllt und sehr sauber:) das frühstück konnte man auswählen und alles war sehr lecker und schön zubereitet! wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder☺️
