Excellent location.

You get your own private rooftop in the heart of the old town—an amazing experience! Imagine having dinner surrounded by historical buildings, with the lively sounds of the city in the background, yet enjoying complete privacy. The host is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, even offering airport pickup, which I highly recommend. The pickup service includes a short sightseeing tour during transportation, making your arrival even more special. The apartment itself is small but well-furnished, providing everything you might need—from various kitchenware to a cigar cutter. It is also impeccably clean. 10/10—highly recommended!

Clean, central, close to seafront, balcony via spiral staircase, a bit tricky to access but saved the day having outside space

No accessible windows, pull down bed, musty smell, noisy at times, but quiet through the night.

The location was perfect inn Old town Funchal and walking distance to great restaurants. The host was super informative on the island and items of interest. The view from the room is gorgeous.

The skylight to get to the terrace is slightly small but worth the view. I had to duck to get out onto the terrace.

Loved the modern decor & the small rooftop balcony.

Woke up each morning to quite a few dead flies in the bathroom and little ants around the property. Didn't bother us too much but had to be cautious with leaving food out (ants all over our bread on the first morning).

The apartment is an adorable conversion of a traditional Madeiran house in a very popular art district. You really don't have to go far to find a great selection of restaurants and the beautiful painted doors are all around you. The bed was very comfortable and the little balcony is perfect for a morning coffee with a stunning view of peaceful Funchal.

The only thing I would point out was the ventilation. It was a bit difficult to fully ventilate the apartment. An air purifier would be a good solution to the musty smell as it is an old building and the humidity is naturally very high.
