Traditional Japanese house with a beautiful garden. There is a kitchen. The price is right. The workers are very kind.

Far from the city centre.

Super host with kindness. Room also very nice with true retro style with beautiful garden.

Bus from main station ride too long.

Friendly host, gave tea and biscuits on arrival. I think that the place is more of a boarding house for students at the nearby Ritsumeikan University.

Very difficult to find, the name could be seen only on a small piece of paper taped to the back door. Check-in took over 20 minutes, making me late for my next meeting.

Friendly owner. The apartment is in a Japanese style house. The garden and downstairs area, not accessible freely to guests, are traditional. It's in a quiet residential area near Golden Pavilion. The room had a well equipped kitchen.

Upstairs area is like a dorm with private rooms and shared toilets and bath. Check in time could be earlier. There is not much to do around unless you visit the temples around or take the street car to Arashiyama.

Host was welcoming and helpful. House was clean and beautifully preserved, really charming. There was an opportunity to take part in a traditional tea ceremony for an extra charge, which I did and enjoyed. Common area features two affectionate cats and a piano!
