Kyoto Wakouan Retro Stay

The house was a traditional home adapted for hosting travel. Kuroda san didn't spare any time for helping understand anything and was ver accommodating to my questions. The rooms and everything are neatly cleaned everyday.

The traditional feel of the house, the owner was very friendly and she was super helpful, and it’s a great location to be close to the temples and palace

Great Host and nice room. The public bath and washing machine was very useful.

It would be great If the shower schedule board could be changed into smaller slots. For example Cover the whole day into 30min blocks and give every room 2 magnets. The 2h blocks in the morning and even the 1h blocks in the evening are too long.

The Retro Stay is the host house, the rooms there is not retro stay.

It was a beautiful historic home located within walking distance of two of Kyoto's well-known shrines. Our host, and her two cat staff, were incredibly friendly and made our stay feel like a home. Everything was clean,.comfortable and it was easy to come and go as we pleased. The garden was amazing and it was great to have breakfast out on the balcony. Highly recommend.

The main entrance after you arrive is a side entrance, but you can schedule time in the beautiful garden entrance part.
