Riana's Homestay

It’s near the town centre and there are a few eateries and convenient stores nearby. There is also a fresh market nearby. The owner allowed me to check in early. The room was large.

You have to walk across a patch of unpaved lane to get to the homestay. There are some noisy dogs around the property who are only too happy to bark their heads off when they see you. It can get very noisy (who knew nature could get so noisy?) and there’s the music and singing from the nearby church at 05:30 every morning. Bring ear plugs!

Great location, quiet and the proprietor was very nice. She asked me what I wanted for breakfast and then made it for me.

There was very little water pressure in the shower, but it was hot!

Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt dort. Ich durfte bereits früh um 6 in mein Zimmer wg. Ankunft nachtbus Selten netter Gastgeber erlebt. Frühstück toll und frisch. Scooter verleih ebenfalls...absolute Empfehlung!!!

Indépendamment du logement, les chiens, les coqs et surtout pas les chants chrétiens à tue-tête à 5h du matin.

Daoud, Riana and their daughter were very welcoming. The room was very clean and very spacious and had everything you really need. I had a great banana pancake, lovely juice and excellent Indonesian coffee for breakfast. Daoud is a very experienced local guide with deep knowledge of the Toraja culture. He knows every road - and how to conquer them by car :D and he does 't let rain stop him guiding - he simply takes a banana leaf and uses it as an umbrella... I never felt unsafe with him. He also knows a lot about (many endemic) plants and trees and how they're used in daily life. And he's patient when you want to take photo's of things that have nothing to do with the subject :D I can recommend Daoud to anyone who really wants to know and experience Toraja.

Even the cold shower I got over - it's simply the Indonesian way of life of many, and you find it in many homestays. Of course the warm climate helps ;)

Homestay je glede na ceno presegel moja pričakovanja. Soba je velika in čista, namenjena je nezahtevnim popotnikom. Postelja je udobna. Kopalnica je velika, zračna, pritisk vode na tušu je bil slab. Zunaj je terasa z mizo in stoli. Gostitelj Daud je zelo prijazen, ponudil nam je prevoz na avtobusno postajo. Daud je tudi zelo dober vodič in ga priporočam. Naju je vodil 3 dni po Toraji, bilo je izjemno. Kontaktirali smo ga preko bookinga tri tedna pred prihodom.

Lokacija homestaya je na robu mesta, zato ponoči ni hrupa zaradi prometa. Ponoči lajajo psi in zgodaj zjutraj se sliši cerkev, zato so potrebni čepki za ušesa. A glede tega se ne da pomagati.

Total liebe Gastgeber, leckeres Frühstück. Gute zentrale Lage. Man kam uns sehr entgegen: wir durften schon morgens in unser Zimmer und konnten unkompliziert einen Scooter leihen.

Es ist etwas hellhörig und abends scheint es etwas hell herein, aber wir konnten dennoch gut schlafen.
