Casa do Carvalho

The views, but most of all the outdoor kitchen where we spent most of our time. It has an amazing BBQ . We could watch the sundown every evening from the front . Walking distance to Levada Ponte do Pargo with beautiful nature. Our host was very helpful with some minor issues. House was fresh and clean with a large tv with Netflix . We had everything we needed and very handy to have a washing machine with a long stay. We will never forget the place.🐈👌

The road leading to the house has a gradient of 20% . There is a technique you have to work out as a good driver (my husband) to be able to park your car without a problem in to the private parking space. This is however in most places in Madeira due to the steep roads. The adress we had to our house was Calheta so we followed that on our gps from the airport but kept getting lost. We discovered that the adress is in Ponte do Pargo and Calheta is the area (but also a city). This caused some confusion in getting there.

Rauhallinen ja viihtyisä sijainti lähellä Ponta de Pargoa. Yöllä oli rauhallista, joten mikään ei häirinnyt nukkumista. Mökistä pääsi lähtemään kätevästi kävellen levadalle kahteen suuntaan. Mökissä on pyykinpesukone, ja se olikin tarpeen. Pyykkiteline oli jo melko huonossa kunnossa ja pyykkipoikia olisi ollut hyvä olla saatavilla enemmän (annettu tästä jo omistajalle suoraan palautetta).

Talossa oli todella kosteaa sisällä ja keittiötilassa jatkuvasti ikävä haju. Yläkerran majoitustilat eivät ihan vastaa kuvia, vaan yläkerrassa oli parisängyn vieressä kuumavesisäiliö ja tilassa oli tosi kuuma sen vuoksi. Ehkä tila on lämmin talvella, mutta kesällä tosi tunkkainen. Mökki on tarkoitettu useammalle henkilölle, mutta keittiövarustus ei ollut aivan sen mukainen. Olisi ollut kiva, että olisi ollut edes perustarvikkeita suolaa ja jotain mausteita saatavilla. Kylpyhuone oli tosi ahdas ja toinen WC oli talon ulkopuolella. Pyyhkeille ei ollut mitään paikkaa kylpyhuoneesa. Pyyhkeiden kuivatus oli hieman haastavaa eikä ne kuivuneet kunnolla edes ulkotiloissa. Ponta de Pargon lähellä on vain yksi pieni kauppa. Jos haluat päästä isompaan kauppaan, pitää ajaa Calhetaan asti. Ponta de Pargon alueella on pari ravintolaa.

La descrizione su booking non corrisponde alla verità. Cercavo e ho pagato per una casa comoda con 2 bagni invece la casa ne ha solo 1 davvero molto piccolo con una doccia dalla quale esce un filo di acqua. Esternamente trovi uno sgabuzzino con un wc, senza lavandino e senza doccia. Le stoviglie le abbiamo trovate unte. Nell ampio soppalco manca l aria così mio figlio ha preferito dormire sul divano all ingresso. Nel lettone abbiamo trovato una lucertola tra le coperte! Però è una casa di campagna.. Fuori c era un bel canestro da basket peccato mancasse il pallone. Il wi-fee non prendeva in camera con la porta chiusa. Il posteggio per l auto è solo per guidatori molto esperti infatti si trova in salita, di traverso e con un gradino molto alto dal quale si rischia di cadere se sbagli manovra.

Nice little house with a great view. Well equipped and a lot of space. All our questions were answered quickly and communication was really friendly.

The driveway is pretty narrow and the street really steep. Challenging if not an experienced driver. It is not really the fault of the House, Madeira is like that :) In March it was sunny, but still cold and pretty humid. There are heaters in the house, but it took some time to heat the big room. Again not the fault of the House but you should be aware of that.

Location, bbq, open living space, kitchen equipment (sharp knives!!), in general the view, but the fence right in the sight of sunset is not so nice. The Levada next to the house!

The cold blueish light in the living room killed the flair of the nice room; bathroom showers very old, drain was clogged before we cleaned it, one drain of the kitchen sink leaked, so we one of two sinks ( not having a dishwasher…)

The location is remote. One hour by car from the airport and on the north side of the island. The weather there is colder and it rains often. Close to a beautiful lighthouse and nice restaurants. There were some walking paths but we didn’t walk on the neighbourhood. It’s a quiet place with a nice view for sunset. The house has everything you need. Well equipped kitchen, wifi and a good size tv with many channels. It has a good size living room/ kitchen and a big attic. Big and nice outside area. The owner was very nice to us giving tips about where to have nice meals in the nearby area. There was information about emergency numbers and pharmacies.

The house must be closed most of the time so it was very smelly and we arrived and very cold inside. It wasn’t spotless but acceptable clean. The bathroom is very small and the window can’t be closed. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the bedcovers were smelly, like from the moist in the air. Very unpleasant. We used the house mainly to sleep and breakfast. But sleep was difficult due to the uncomfortable beds.
