Madalena Hostel e Suites

Excellent Hostel with friendly staff. I stayed for 2 nights in the 4-bed female dorm and it would be my 2nd time ever in a hostel. The 4-bed female dorm has its own bathroom which was extremely clean with a high water power shower. Soap is available if you didnt bring your own. The beds have their own private curtain with a little box side to put your things and a light. The plugs are not 3-pin so you will need an adapter. The locker was big enough for my stuff with a top shelf area and a bottom larger space. The locker and towel you get come free with your booking so no extras to pay. The hostel generally was clean throughout. It has a rooftop, a kitchen area and a smaller room to hang out in. The staff are friendly and speak multiple languages, Joao was particularly lovely, allowing me to use the charger for my electronics as I didn't have an adapter. If you want to leave your bags after check-out you can for an additional €2-3. The hostel is walking distance of everything you need inckuding city centre, downtown, old town and the marina. Overall enjoyed my stay 🙂

The dorm I was in was directly behind a bar I think so quite noisy at night (your locker has earplugs) No breakfast available.

Great place to stay for solo travellers. I stayed in a six bed female dorm only for a one night to catch my flight the next morning. Easy to check-in, they sent me all the instructions. The location is great right in the city center, so you can reach everything within the center by walking and also great if you want to catch the bus to the airport because it's very close. The bed, bathroom and the whole room room was super clean and comfortable. The hostel is right in the city center, so you can hear the noise from the street even in the night, but you can easily fix this by using earplugs since the hostel provides you with the one. It was perfect place to stay for a one night if you travel on budget :)

Super bonito, literas con bases sólidas de madera que no rechinan, escalones bien señalados por cintas de seguridad, todo olia muy limpio. Tu cama es super privada con unas cortinas blackout muy bien colocadas. Pequeños compartimientos para poner tus cosas junto a tu lámpara y conexiones de luz. Lockers rindes y afuera para no hacer ruido en las habitaciones. Muy buena ubicación. Todo automatizado con códigos.

A pesar de todo verse y oler muy limpio, encontré dos cucarachas enormes en mi habitación, una cerca y otra dentro del baño. La cama parecía hamaca de lo hundida que está, se ve que jamás se les ha ocurrido darle una vuelta al colchón.

The staff is very friendly, chatty and helpful. Nadia and Joao were really kind and professional as the precious stays.

Staff were so helpful! They allowed me to use the bathroom and store my bags before check-in, and after checkout I paid 2 euros to store my bag until 17:30 (when the staff leave) and I was also able to use the (amazing) kitchen and dining area and the bathroom until then. The room was small but comfortable and the location was great. I stayed on a Sunday night and the surrounding area was quiet.

The bunkbeds were very shaky when climbing up/down
