The Tarbet Hotel

Tarbet Hotel is a gem. It has a priceless view, and is large enough to accommodate groups while still being charming.

The rooms were dated and there was no AC. The window did not have a screen. It would have been nice to have a fan in every room.

Excellent location on Loch Lomond & Dog friendly. Decent car park, dog water bowls at entrance. Friendly staff, lovely & clean & lift if needed. Allowed to have dog in the restaurant & good food. Good bar, & restaurant with views & lots of seating round hotel. Quick skip over the road to walk the dog & your right on the Loch...& a Loch cruise if you fancy it.

Room was so hot as radiator to max ( previous guest must've been chilly! ) but easily sorted & sash windows opened easy, to mountain view. Least you know it'll be toasty place to stay in winter ;)

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good and the bar prices very reasonable.

I do not like giving card details if I am not going to book items to my room account (I know this is in the T&Cs) and house keeping need to clean the extractor in the bathroom as this had large amounts of dust in/on it but this is being really picky as this hotel is very good and I would stay again.

The location on the loch is stunningly beautiful (that may sound hyperbolic, honestly it's not )and the building is very impressive. However the best thing about this hotel was the welcoming friendly staff and ambience. The rates are very competitive (we have nine nights in the islands and islands so we've booked various hotels) . Nice hotel!

We had no problems

Location was perfect for us. It was just a stopover on the way north. Beautiful setting and handsome building on the outside.

As soon as you walk in the door the mood changes. It was cold and uninviting. Lovely spacious public rooms but so bland and characterless. Our room was on the 2nd floor, very small and in urgent need of redecorating . Shower was poor and towell rail was leaking leaving pool on the floor. The corridors were dark and dingy, only bright thing was a little lift which was lined from floor to ceiling in bright red carpet? They are in need of a good interior designer! It was a cold and wet day and heating doesn't come on till six o'clock and even then radiator was barely luke warm.
