Freedom Beach Arugam Bay

Wonderful family that will do their best to make your stay amazing and memorable. Apart from the cozy accommodation, Samanthi's kitchen is right there, and she is an excellent cook. If you are interested in surfing, Krish and his crew rent boards and offer surf lessons just next door. Last but not least, the location is great, especially if you are coming for surfing, as you are right next to the main beach – grab your board and go surf the Main Point for the sunrise!

This is a surftown, so the place is great for access to main point It's directly opposite the fisherman shacks and boats ,so you get the feel of the place.Krish and samanthi are very good hosts and are very attentive. Tommy is very helpful as well.Nice garden, and surprisingly quiet given its location close to the main road .We left early last morning and samanthi broke all records to have our breakfast ready for us. Very nice family, swapped a couple of old surf stories with Krish, it was good. Would go back in the quiet season tho ,too many tourists.

Being so close to the fishermen's shacks you get the stale fish smell with an onshore wind ,but we bought some incense and that really helped. No fault of the owner though. Otherwise a couple of cushions on the front seats of the cottage would be great. Nothing to do with Freedom Beach ,but it is a pity that so many of the young tourists disrespect the local religion with wearing very little around town. There are other places for that ,Please think about the local people.

Best location in Arugam Bay, right at the surf spots! Krish and his family were the best hosts and we had some amazing surf lessons through his surf shop.

The people running Freedom beach are the biggest legends you will ever meet. Krish, Samathi and the rest of the staff made our stay the best holiday we have ever had. Location could not be better, so close to main point and epic breakfast next door.

We didn't like that we couldn't stay longer.

Amazing family who made me feel a part of it. Instant connection with a great atmosphere. They will do anything they can to make your stay memorable. Thank you so much Krish, shamathi and the team. I will miss you all and hope to see you again in the future.

Very little not to like

The best place to stay in Arugam! Hotel has the best restaurant and surf school, service is very high level, very friendly and chill in the same time. In love with a family who rules the hotel and restaurant. They have good coffee and you can drink there even flat white) 2 min to the surf spot. Highly recommend Freadom Beach hotel, Samanthi's food (my favourite place in the city) and Krish surf shack surfing school.

Excellent location for surfing in Arugam Bay. Great cafe next door run by same family.
