Love everything about this place , the pool and the facilities are exceptional! Special mention about the property care taker Mr. Jeevan he is the best and made our stay more special with his big smile and with his cooking skills!

The hosts, were incredibly lovely people and potentially made our stay the best ever. Lovely property, tastefully decorated, bed and pillows very comfortable. Lovely gardens and pool with complimentary butler. Short walking distance to city centre and beach. Toot Toots readily available, honest drivers and cheap. Highly recommend.

We liked the pool.

The bathroom wall did not connect up to the ceiling and there was another guest bathroom on the other side of our wall which was extremely odd and un settling. So there was open-air space on the top of the wall. You can hear everything that goes on in each other's bathrooms unless the bathroom to the bedroom door is closed at all times. The room had very limited space for luggage and there were no hangars or hooks anywhere Also, when they schedule aircon maintenance, they need to schedule it with the guest before arrival, not while the guest is in the room.

First of all, the host is lovely! Super available via watsapp, will answer all of your questions and help you with transport if needed! The room is very modern! A huge bed, very clean, cool and A/C ! The pool is lovely, there is shade in the afternoon with nice lounge chairs ! You are a 5min walk away from convenience store (Kells) and 15 min from the Galle city center! It is a little gem hinden in the city! Very lovely, I would recommend 10/10 !

This was hands down our favourite stay during our entire Sri Lanka trip! - Very new and clean rooms, nicely furnished - Fully stocked kitchen available at any time of the day, VERY CLEAN! - Great interior design, beautiful and spacious bathrooms - Clean and cozy pool - PERFECT customer service. There’s a person at another building within the property at all times ready to help you with everything. One day after a long day of sightseeing we were welcomed with freshly gathered coconuts straight from the tree next to the pool! Jeewa was always a nice and welcoming face to see when coming back to the property :) - Great contact with the property owner, both via WhattsApp and occasional visits in the property. The owner made some good travel recommendations and was very interested in our wellbeing - Veeery tasty breakfasts offering a wide selection of fruits, spreads and different local cuisine options everyday - The place feels like you are staying at your own home but still offering all benefits you get at a hotel - Good location (not in the middle of the touristy area, but still within walking distance to the fort, beach and residential areas of Galle

No cons - it’s a great place to stay at!

Delightful stay at The Shades, which is a newly-built, well-designed property under assiduous care. The owner, Dhammika, and full-time caretaker, Jeewa, were attentive and friendly. The property is walkable to The Fort, the main entrance of which is reachable in roughly 20 minutes by passing through a neighborhood marked by a few interesting Catholic institutions. The pool is clean and most refreshing. Room was very clean, breakfast filling, AC effective and quiet, and WiFi strong. It's located in a friendly residential neighborhood, which is fun to explore. Would be happy to stay here again.

This is a hidden gem of a place. You may be tempted to stay in galle fort but this place is a reason not to. The decor of the room is second to none with a comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. It is only a 15-min walk to the fort area. We particularly enjoyed having access to kitchen facilities and the pool are for a reasonable place. They could do our laundry on site and had a bike for rental to explore surrounding areas. Definitely worth staying out of fort area!

The accommodation clearly exceeded our expectations. There are only two rooms in the complex, which makes it pleasantly quiet. Despite the small complex, there is always a janitor who is there for every request and serves breakfast very lovingly. In general, both the owner and the janitor were extremely friendly. Last but not least, the room and the pool were very modern, clean and inviting. The bed was also the most comfortable of the Sri Lanka trip so far. We liked the hotel so much that we extended our stay.

The nature of owner was good. He understands the need of guests. He has a new property and reconstruction took around Oct 23. So, any shortages , one has to ask and owner will fulfill it if genuine. example : for us adapter for mobile charging was arranged by him in no time. Breakfast was tasty, though limited variety but value for money.

The owner was out that day and came back in 1 hour time. Best part is he was always in contact over whatsapp. He figured out the solution for such mishaps like he said that he will give phone number of caretaker for avoiding such instances. Secondly, there is no view from property, but I got prepared for it. Anyone looking out for this thing , Please come prepared. Advantage was that if one has hired tuk tuk / car etc , then fort is hardly 7-10 minutes away. Lastly caretaker stays at property and there is no interchange. So, you go out to call him for any help/ issues. I am sure owner will look into this as well. All these negatives go away once you meet owner Dhammika, who is always looking to improve.
