Fuga Bettei Shijo Omiya

Two floors, space, central location in Kyoto.

Communication with apartment owner (failed to provide access code, even after contacting them in the morning. Another family who just arrived, also didn't receive access code, even afyer contacting them the day before). Limited kitchen utensils, not entirely sufficient for 5 people.

The location. Close to stations, buses etc. Lots of grocery stores nearby. The beds were comfortable.

Bathroom and toilet were on separate floors. The stairs were steep and high. They gave us the wrong pin code to get into the property. The dishes were not cleaned well. The toaster stopped working. No yukatas provided. Inadequate sheets for the tatami room.

I liked how everything was already set up for our party of 5. It was a nice and thoughtful touch. I was expecting the neighbors to be quite loud based on the advisory from the owners; however, the walls were not as thin as I was expecting. The only minor issue our stay had were the mosquitos/gnats in the room, but overall it was not too big of an issue.

Really I liked everything!

Get to experience Traditional Japanese style. Property was cozy for 4 adults. Location was near station and many buses available to popular tourist attractions.

Lovely two storey house with plenty of room for two or even three people, big rooms for a Japanese house. The facilities and the decor were great. It was close to a train station and in a quaint little street with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

It was difficult to get to from the main train station as the bus routes were confusing and we ended up in a very different location and ended up getting a taxi. I would suggest a taxi for your initial trip after that it's easy to navigate the public transport system.
