"Had a great time despite the many shortcomings of our accomodation."

6.0

The overall standard of cleanliness was good although there were a couple of exceptions regarding the kitchen utensils. Generally, we liked the flat and had a nice stay.

En-suite lighting not working so room unuseable; previous reviews mentioned this but it is still not fixed. Silly motion-triggered light in bathroom; I had to start waving my arms about when the light went off halfway through shaving. Both of these problems could have been solved by using a simple switch system. Only one bedside cabinet in master bedroom and no bedside lights, I fail to understand why so much wardrobe space is provided for what is primarily a venue for short breaks, whereas a second bedside cabinet would not only have been welcome, but the room could have been arranged so that the radiator wasn't covered had the larger wardrobe not needed to be accomodated and the window wouldn't have been partially obscured by the bed. Broken door knob on second bedroom, The flat was done up to a good standard regarding materials/furniture, but to a poor standard in much of the workmanship; the master bedroom door being the most obvious example; why spend all that money on lovely doors and then get them hung by an incompetent? Why fit under-wall cupboard lighting in the kitchen and then provide no obvious means of turning it on? Finally, there are rats living in the cupboards in the courtyard outside the front door; we saw them several times. There was evidence of pest control, but it clearly isn't working. As I said in the box above, we still had a good break, but it would have been better had the flat been given a bit of extra thought/attention.

"Lovely comfortable place if you have a car,"

8.0

The place is large and very comfortably funnished, it felt nice that it was heated in advance before our arrival

The place was on a very steep heel, close to the center but very hard to walk to it, the apt. was a basement one, and there was some cent of mould

"Nice family experience all in all"

8.0

The flat is spacious, clean and very well equipped. Specially the kitchen. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom and the shower room are luxorious. Owner/renter is kind and helpful, quick to answer. Checking in and out is easy.

Basement flat with walls around, no sight at all. The stairs that lead you there are risk factors, specially with someone who has moving disability or visual depairment. The light in the toilet only gives you 3 minutes then switches off, if you are having a shower, that is not enough. Back room is cold, bare wall makes it feel colder, good point that there is an extra heater.

"A lovely and well located place, but a few inconveniences to be fixed up before considering booking"

7.0

Very spacious and comfortable, high ceilings, good taste interior deco, good quality furniture, equipment (except the shade in the small bedroom) and kitchen appliances (except dishwasher). Good quality bath linen.

First thing, you need to know ( because it's not written in the description) that, talking of Georgian buildings, "garden flat" really means "basement flat" : level -1 with respect to the pavement. It has a certain charm, but the consequence is that you need to go down a steep flight of stone steps to get into the appartment and then climb them up when you go out. This may be funny for youngsters but is no good for elderly or disabled people, which was our case. Second thing, I would expect that the management of such a property checks that everything is working properly prior to letting new guests in. This obviously hadn't been the case : - inside entrance light not working (gives a bad first impression !) - half of the kitchen counter lights not working - half of the en-suite bathroom spotlights not working (2 out of 4) - mirror light in the en-suite bathroom not working - rolling shade canvas, in the small bedroom, on the verge of detaching from the rail when fully rolled down - DISHWASHER not working (a real spoiler when you have Xmas eve dinner and Xmas brunch at the appartment !) The dishwasher issue was raised as soon as revealed and pictures provided, but no one came to fix it. Only received the little music "We sincerely apologize for falling short of your expectations and for the inconvenience it has caused you", but that's it! Overall, it's a lovely place but I would advise anyone considering booking it, to check before whether all those inconveniences have been fixed up.
