Blue Moon Hostel

Firstly, the staff couldn’t not have been nicer! Such lovely guys who went out of their way to make me tea and give me medicine when I wasn’t well. The sheets smell lovely and fresh and the towels were large and new.

I was travelling with my daughter and stayed here 2 nights in 2 different rooms whilst she went off to do a volcano climb. The first room, large, Mountain View, bathroom shared with 6 other people (all young men) has a seating area right in front of the window where people come to hang out and smoke. You also have a lot of noise from the road and the building work next door starts at 7am. The second room, tiny, inner courtyard view, has a bathroom with only half a piece of glass in the window. There’s another hang out area right next to the bathroom on the other side so you can hear their every word and they can hear your every wee! Way too much money for what you are getting. And no privacy. And weed smoking going on.

The place was clean and I felt safe leaving my stuff in my room (it was a 5 bed hostel room). The staff was very welcoming and knew the area (they gave good recommendations). And they enjoyed company. By that, I mean they would carry on a conversation with me when I initiated one, and they invited me to go to the concert with them. And the hostel itself was a pretty little place for sitting and reading / writing / etc.

Great location, amazing staff with great service and tour linkups

I really liked the location in Antigua because it was really walkable to every part of the city and the staff was amazing they welcomed me very nicely and showed me all there is to do around city and offered me all kinds of activities to do (and I checked around and they had the lowest prices for the mountain hiking).

Room was open on the main resting area (no window in the bathroom) so no intimacy and noise from the hostel inside of our room

Good location

Very noisy. The managers dog barked all evening and the stairs are metal so you can hear everyone. The room was very small with barely enough room to move around

closeness to everything, 7 minutes walk to center park, many restaurant choices nearby! Great staffing, Edon organized my picking up from airport, biking tour and etc. grateful for all the help.

Two points 1. Shower doesn’t drain efficiently. 2. Street outside is on bus line, traffic noise is continuous all day all night!

10/10 Hostel. The hosts were extremely friendly and always responsive. The rooms were immaculate and the beds were super comfortable. Location was perfect, in the heart of Antigua. I booked all my tours with the Hostel, including Volcano, ATV Tour and a bus to Leon. Will 100% stay here again and recommend to all.
