Ecohotel Shalom

Very nice host. Welcoming and pleasant. Brought coffee with some sweet bread in the morning. It's outside of the city, thus very quiet during the night (if there are no noisy guests). They have a well maintained pool. Peaceful.

The building itself is very noisy. We were unlucky having other guests at the property that made a lot of noise during the night. I cannot really blame the host for this, but it's a factor to take into account that the building is not soundproof.

We were welcome to tour the grounds and our host, along with his family, explained all of the plants and trees to us. The room was very spacious and the pool area was a great place for us to visit and enjoy our company.

The road to the location was a bit bumpy for our rental car but so close to the city that it was just fine.

Very warm welcome from Efrain and his lovely family. They provided us with a sumptuous breakfast every day (which was not supposed to be included) and they sorted out a problem with our car in a Sunday morning. Great people!

Accommodation is a bit basic, but fully acceptable by our standards.

This is a new hotel and it runs on solar power. The room was spacious and very clean. We did not even expect breakfast, but it was offered and prepared for us with great care. It was more like a visit with friends. We even got to borrow two bicycles to ride into town.

I liked absolutely everything, but it might be worth mentioning that there is no AC. The climate was very comfortable though and a ceiling fan is there. You also need to know that this place is about 4 km from the centre of town. However, there are several cenotes in walking distance

Beautiful property, room was so clean and comfortable, pool was glorious, and staff was so great. Amazing value! One of our favourite places during our honeymoon trip through the Yukatan.
