HOM Roma

Nice location in Roma Norte. Private Room was simple but nice. Bathrooms is just 1 per floor but that was fine. Good price for the location.

Not a huge deal, but kitchen/common areas were very small and made it difficult to cook/eat at times when other people were also cooking/eating.

This is a hostel, so it can be noisy. A few nights people were talking at 3.30 in the morning so it was difficult to sleep. Also this is Mexico, so don’t put any paper in the toilet. Especially if you have a shared bathroom.

It’s a decent hostel. A bit run down but good for the price overall. Ventilation is not great.

Overall, I liked it

Okay value for the price. It's a fairly large hostel with 3-4 floors, with 1 or 2 bathrooms (toilet + shower) on each floor. There is hot water in the shower, and a reasonably clean and well-equipped kitchen. We liked that we could leave our luggage after check-out, but the luggage closet was neither locked nor attended by a staff member, so it did feel a bit risky. Oh, well--we got clean sheets and it was overall fine for one night, but we wouldn't have stayed longer.

The ground floor is like a dungeon, with no natural light. There was a window in our private room that opened to the hallway with the washing machine, but if we opened it, laundry would fall in from the pile on top of the washer. There was no fresh air on the ground floor anyway. The kitchen had a water filter, but it was empty throughout the day we stayed. However, I think we stayed in the worst room in the hostel; you may have a better experience if you are on a higher floor with air circulation and windows to the outside world.
