The Boathouse at Oakhurst Olives

The gravel road leading to the farm was a little rough from rains but still easy to drive.

This truly is a magical place. Away from all the noise and it hugs you with nature, birds sounds and absolute tranquility. Olive, the local hound will join you for a walk in the never ending orchards and guide you to the best view on top of the hill. The generous host spoiled us with an olive and oil tasting including a free wine testing voucher. We will surly visit again and arrived back in Cape Town refreshed and filled tanks with energy, beauty and peace.

Amazing location nestled at the foot of magnificent mountains . Beautiful bird life. Stunning sunrises and we were lucky to be here on a full moon so that was spectacular. Such a comfortable house with a huge fireplace (which we used often!!!)

The Boathouse was incredible. Everything was just perfect! The hosts were helpful and friendly. The location and view were out of this world, just so relaxing and beautiful. The house had everything we needed and a little extra. Worth every penny. And I will be back. It was a perfect winter getaway, and it will also be an ideal spring, summer, and autumn getaway—I will try them all :D

There is nothing I can fault the place on.

A great cottage in a tremendous setting. Spacious, fully equipped and well furnished.

The only slight criticism is that the queen sized double bed could be larger.

The Boathouse is a place that you go to if you really want to unwind and get into nature. If you needed to find things to do, Tulbagh is close and of course many wine farms to visit. The Oakhurst farm has brilliant olives and we learnt so much from an authentic olive tasting. For us the pool table was a complete winner.

There is nothing to not like at this location.

The location and grandeur of the house is very relaxing and comfortable. It is spacious and very well furnished with lots of different places to relax in and admire the scenery. The linen and towels are high quality with the bed being extremely comfortable.

In our opinion there is nothing which springs to mind which we were unhappy with.

The Boathouse is really beautiful, set on a tranquil dam. Although it is on a working farm it is completely private and peaceful. The complementary olive tasting was delightful. All the staff we encountered were lovely. Including Oliver and Rena (the two dogs) who accompanied us on walks leading the way. The boathouse is truly a special place, we were sorry to leave.
