The Boathouse at Oakhurst Olives

Fabulous location and wonderful comfortable house. Lovely outside braai area and deck overlooking the lake. We swam and canoed in the lake. Very private too.

The Boathouse was ideal for a quiet getaway. The property had all the comforts of home accompanied by a stunning mountain range view. Two nights simply was not enough! I will definitely be back!

self-catering, clean beautiful and fresh eggs from DeWald that was charming !

the lights and fan switches were confusing, only 2 of the gas stove plates worked. the dogs were a bit overwhelming. ( if you're not a dog person) it should be a 2-man canoe. the ornage canoe worked the other one is faulty !

Beautiful views from property itself and from the extensive trails set around and above the olive groves; lots of bird life including kingfishers, owls and eagles. Well equipped kitchen and braai area; decent shower; comfortable bed; enjoyed the kayak and pool table. The dogs were friendly and loved joining us on our walks. We stayed 6 nights and didn’t find the location too remote - 15 minute drive into town where there are cafes and restaurants. Managed fine with a small hire car despite the last 2 km being on unsurfaced roads.

Nothing major - just a few little quirks which you get used to.

One of the best locations I have ever stayed at. The boathouse is a special place with amazing scenery and a tranquil location. Great thought and effort have been put into the design and decor and everything you may need is already there...plus some thoughtful complimentary goodies. We enjoyed the visits from the friendly dogs Oliver and Rina who were perfect company without being intrusive. The working farm is interesting and the olive tasting was excellent and informative, also the olives/oils etc are well priced at the farm shop. We have been wanting to stay here for years but never found availability.....hopefully we can find a vacancy again soon so return!

Worth a visit

The incredible attention to detail! The placement of certain items that make you feel that you are walking into your own house. Oliver and Rena,the best welcoming "hosts" a human could ask for! The peace and views fill your soul, we will definantly be back!
