The Mews Cottage

The owners were very accommodating with arrival and departure times. The main bed was really comfy. The lounge was nice to relax in. The location was fabulous. Just a few minutes from train station and the town centre and the amazing sea views were just a few steps down the road. The owners were incredibly helpful offering advice when asked about places to eat. But I saw they also had some great information already provided in the accommodation. We didn't use them, but it was nice there were several cereals and some milk provided. Nice to have a proper coffee machine and choice of teas too. The bath and shower were great. It was very helpful to be able to book for only one night, as that is all we needed. We were not cold at all in the accommodation, but Fiona kindly reminded us of extra heater we could use should we feel cold before the central heating came on. We did not need it though. It was a pleasant and peaceful stay.

The directions were confusing and we did spend a bit of time trying to find the property once we had parked. I think it was literally just the order of wording. I would suggest just explaining its at the rear of the address, where guests could park briefly to offload- accessed via the back lane and then go on to explain parking instructions? I think stating the accommodation is not at the address of the accommodation, was too confusing. There was a slight funky smell downstairs in the kitchen and bathroom, not overbearing, but noticeable when you entered the property. I couldn't access the windows to let some fresh air in. Only 1 loo roll felt a bit stingy, I don't expect to be working out how to be economical with basics like that when paying to stay somewhere. The grip tape on stairs kept getting us and the shape of top step and steepness of stairs was quite precarious and my son misjudged his footing not long after arriving, which left me on edge about him going downstairs to use the bathroom at night. The sofa bed was quite uncomfortable according to my 12 year old son. Would probably be fine for smaller lighter children, but he said the join in the middle was hard. All these are easily fixable things though and only sharing for feedback purposes. I wouldn't let them be a deterrent. We still had a pleasant and peaceful stay and the location and being able to book for one night and fair price, made up for the things that just need a little tweak to make it a perfect stay.

The property was beautiful, just the right size for a small family. Was Spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was there. Even a little breakfast package for the next morning. A few minutes walk from the train station, high street, se front and harbour.

As a last minute booking I was very happy and wish I could have stayed longer! The apartment was very clean and comfortable

It was very close to the centre of Penzance.

The tea/coffee facilities were poor - eg no milk. It was tricky to find and no parking.

The small "apartment"/studio was charming but not so handy, especially downstairs with kitchen, bathroom and entrance of app.10kvm together. The TV snug upstairs comfy and well sized. In the kitchenette there was coffe, te, cereals and milk, which felt welcoming.

The bed was quite small but I understand that a bigger one would not fit, however comfortable. We had our check out time changed to 10.00 since the check in time was changed, otherwize 9 00 is a very early check out on a holiday trip....
