Holy River Stays

In the middle of the old centre of Varanassi near to the river side (Ganges). You can walk everywhere on the street. The owner Kuldeep was a very kind man. When we arrived, he came to welkom us and tell uw what we could do during our stay. Because of some festivities on 30 and 31 December (we arrived at 29 December), he told us to make the boat ride on the Ganges the 29th. So we did. Very beautifull! The next day we walked by ourselfs along the river and the Gaths (very impressive). The day our daughter was sick (31st) he offers to get some medicine and fruits (for free). He and his staff wel very helpfull. In the evening of the 30th, Kuldeep took as to a ceremony in a temple. Also very impressive. A good place to stay for a couple of days and to discover the area. Thank you for all your good help and we enjoyed our stay with you! The take good care of us.

We had a cold shower, buy that was because of the switch in the hall. The personal switched the lights of during the night, because they sleep in front of the frontdoor, and also the switch for the hot water. We told them not to switch of the switch for the hot water and the next morning we had a hot shower :) So there was really nothing to complain.

Pack light. No transportation is possible for the last 300-400 meters. However, the property is close proximity to multiple temples and an average 700-800 meters walk.

Location from distance to many temples was good. Kuldeep was very helpful and warm. Helped us with some beautiful darshans in the temples. I choose this property as it is walking distance from numerous temples.

It is a bit inside, you have to be prepared to walk for about 300-400 meters to access any transport. Just be prepared for that. Kuldeep arranged for the luggage to be carried from/to taxi, so that is good.

Holy River Stays is placed central to Ganga and not too far from the Kashi Vishvanat temple, all within walking distance. Kuldeep is an excellent host and he personally took us on a Temple walk in the local area, including arati at the Durga Temple and a visit to the Kaal Bhairav Temple, ending it with a stop at a local sweets shop.

Very nice owner and staff, good location

The stay is very near to Ganesh ghat. The staffs(Ankit and Umesh bhaiya) were really friendly, very polite and helpful. They took us to nearby temples and Shayan Aarthi at Kashi Vishwanath temple. Rooms were spacious. The host (Kuldeep) was also very friendly.

Bathrooms could have been a little bigger.

This is a review for River Town View (which is also owned by the same people who own Holy River Stay). We moved there as the room was ready early morning when we arrived (and we were both pretty sick!) River Town view was further out of town for restaurants etc but the accommodation / rooms were lovely. And a one minute walk to the ghats. Honey looked after us so well too with food and meds - thankyou Honey.

it is very near to the Ganges, but it is difficult to find. Taxis cannot reach the hotel. Safe: guard is sleeping in front of the room. extensive whatsapp communication

loud: no closed windows next to a small street. very basic for european standards, but too expensive for indian guesthouse standards.

This lovely guesthouse was amazing and the staff so helpfull. We had a problem with hot water and the owner sorted it out quickly. Best positions in hearth of old varanasi. The room was very nice and clean. To improve the bathroom cleaning. Owner was kind to make us a tour of temples around the house and arrange for us boat trip and transport.

No breakfast included and all the near caffè open after 9 AM.
