Staying at Wood Palace in Ella was one of the highlights of my trip. The location is perfect — it feels like you’re tucked away in the jungle, surrounded by nature and total peace, yet you’re only a short stroll from town, cafes, and everything you need. That balance between seclusion and convenience is hard to find, but this place nails it. The family who runs it make the stay extra special. The mother who prepares breakfast is absolutely adorable — she cooks with such care, and her warm smile makes every morning brighter. The breakfasts themselves are delicious, fresh, and generous. The owner is a great bloke too — kind, genuine, and always ready to help with tips, directions, or just a good chat. If you want a stay in Ella that feels authentic, welcoming, and beautifully set in nature without being far from the action, Wood Palace is the perfect choice. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

Stunning views & the hosts were lovely - especially the hosts mother. She was so cute and friendly. The sounds of the jungle was amazing to fall asleep to. It was like white noise.

Lights sometimes came on and off but we didn’t mind.

La famiglia che gestisce la casa è assolutamente speciale. La camera davvero bellissima. Certo da tener presente che sei nella giungla... Miglior soggiorno nel nostro viaggio.

Poca acqua nella doccia

Lo chalet mansardato immerso nella giungla , pulito . Si dorme bene anche se ci sono volatili in continuo movimento ma fa parte del contesto e ci sta .

Posizione lontana 2,5 km dal centro di Ella e i 120 gradini irregolari per raggiungere la stanza.. per carità si può fare ma ci vuole allenamento . Colazione indecente (pane in cassetta nemmeno tostato e scatole di plastica di marmellate chimiche e burro già aperte prese dal frigo di casa )

Astonishing view and really wide room

Too many steps to reach the room and a little bit expensive considering the overall service

The room has an insane view of the forest, surrounded by nature. The family is also incredibly kind and available for most requests.

Beware of the 8 story descent/climb to the rooms ( stairs are also made of wood and not even). The family helps carry your luggage to/from the room but would highly suggest avoiding the hotel if you’re not up to the challenge. The staff also forgot to prepare us breakfast (compensated by waiving the credit card fee).

A beautiful family run hotel, built in to the hillside just outside the Main Street of Ella. The accommodation was peaceful and surrounded by nature, with incredible views from the balcony. The family who run the hostel are very friendly and hospitable. Short journey from Ella Main Street and the surrounding attractions (Little Adam’s Peak, 9 arch bridge).

Views were unreal. So peaceful. Sounds of birds and water all around you The family who own and run the place are so lovely Location is excellent for Ella. Away from the busy tourist main road but only two to three minutes by TukTuk
