Riverbank View Three Bedroom Apartment with Free Parking

Wow! This apartment is absolutely perfect. The location overlooking the river is just dreamy, and being only a 5-minute walk from the heart of York is fantastic. We were so impressed with how clean and spacious everything was. And a big thank you to Peter for the warm welcome and helpful information – he really made us feel at home. We had a truly great night's stay and would love to come back!

We needed wheel chair access-which it had into the property and throughout. What I hadn’t noticed was the shower was in the bath which was the only thing I would change about the property. But saying that we managed and had a wonderful time.

This was one of the best holiday accommodations we have stayed at. There was adequate bedding, the beds were comfortable, and there was ample room for all of us, a family of four. The apartment was warm, but not too warm, or too cold. There was one nice bathroom with a bath and shower. I had several baths due to a painful neck problem, and there was plenty of hot water. The kitchen was equipped with everything, apart from a tumble dryer, though there was a washing machine, dish washer, and a good supply of wash and dish tablets. The owner very kindly supplied a selection of jams, butter pats, bread, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, and some high-quality biscuits. There was even a bottle of white wine left in the fridge for us. We thought this was very thoughtful, and welcoming. There were adequate plug sockets and a hairdryer in the dresser drawer. All in all, a home from home.

Location was great. Parking was great. The host, Peter, was a nice guy and very helpful. The welcome pack was great: milk, tea, biscuits, bread, butter etc., even a bottle of wine! There were plenty of clean cloths in the kitchen.

Beds and bed linen were not very inviting - looked dated. Single beds were very hard and creaked with every move. Double bed had a single mattress on a spring frame base - very bouncy and a bit lopsided; not that great. Kitchen was OK, but rather old. The work surface was very faded in places. It was also quite dark, with no natural light, except from two glass windows to the lounge. The kettle kept shutting off before it boiled. There was no oil for cooking and the frying pan was fit for the dump! It was non-stick maybe 20 years ago, but not now. The base of the pan was so "bowed" that it was inclined to spin on the stove - it was more like a wok than a frying pan! Because of the bowed base, it didn't heat evenly and everything in the pan gravitated to the center, not good when you are trying to keep fried eggs apart! The only spatula was a metal one (not good for a once non-stick pan) and our eggs really didn't want to come out of the pan in one piece!! A lot of the egg white was stuck on to the pan and difficult to remove when washing. The nights were very cold when we stayed and the heating was not the best - it was Night Storage Heaters, supplemented by some electric wall heaters in the bedrooms. The bathroom was OK, with the shower over the bath but there were no grab handles? Not good for anyone with mobility issues! The shower was OK for an electric shower.

Absolutely amazing. Clean and tidy throughout. Very warm welcome. Lots of nice little touches like tea,coffee and milk etc. Great location and having parking is a huge bonus. We will be recommending to others and staying again. This apartment has it all, and has been what we needed for a family trip away. We cannot thank our host enough!

Location was great, close to the centre.

There was a very good introduction in person to the property. Everything was explained very well. The kitchen was very well equipped and all the essentials were provided. The bathroom was spotless. The bed was really comfortable. The dining table was beautifully set out too. There is a ramp up to the property from the road at the side which provides wheelchair access. It was only a short walk to Monk Bar and Goodroomgate.

It was a little bit cold in the night. We didn't find the thermostat until the morning. It was in the kitchen. It was our oversight really.

Good location for York, with nice pubs and eateries nearby. Your own parking spot is an excellent plus not to mention plenty of cereals for guests and a very nice gesture of already having bread, milk, orange juice , jams and butter in..

There wasn't really anything not to like.
