The room at Giardini di Luce was nice and charming, though there a bit of humidity in the room. That said, the accommodation really captures the authentic style of Matera, which is such a beautiful city. We loved the garden and the terrace—they were both wonderful spots to relax. Our host was very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was decent and a good way to start the day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the unique atmosphere.

Prachtige kamer, fijn bed. Prachtig uitzicht vanuit de tuin en deze is uniek voor Matera. We vetrokken erg vroeg en konden daardoor niet ontbijten. Toch hadden ze in de koelkast op de kamer een klein ontbijt klaar gezet om mee te nemen. Heel attent.

De airconditioning had niet genoeg power om de kamer te koelen. We hadden een open kamer waar je met een trap naar boven ging en daar stond het bed. Maar de airconditioning koelde dat bovenste gedeelte niet af waardoor het daar heel bedrukkend was.

"Comfort in the Sassi!"

Beautiful room in the Sassi. So comfortable and stylish. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Slept like a log both nights. We had a wonderful breakfast both mornings and our hostess Brunella was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Giardini di Luce if you’re staying in beautiful Matera.

"Magnifique cadre, un peu difficile d’accès"

Belle chambre bien équipée. Magnifique vue sur la ville depuis le très beau jardin et superbe cadre. Accueil et gentillesse de l’hôte. Très bon petit déjeuner.

Logement difficile d’accès avec des valises. Gros problèmes d’humidité dans la chambre. Douche vitrée au milieu de la chambre (pas idéal si on n’est pas en couple)!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The location couldn't have been better—right in the heart of Sassi di Matera, with easy access to everything this historic city has to offer. One of the highlights was the stunning view over the city, both during the day and beautifully lit at night—it truly felt magical. The room was perfect: clean, stylish, and thoughtfully arranged. The bed was comfortable, providing a great night's sleep after exploring the city. We also really enjoyed the breakfast! Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

"A true paradise place in the very center of the sassi district."

Marvelous stay ! The geographical situation is ideal, in the very center of the Sassi district. The staff is very friendly, smiling, always at disposal. And the garden and terrasse offers a truely wonderful view of the district. We realy felt like we were on vacation. The bedroom was big, the bath very relaxing. Wish we would have stayed longer !

"Grüne Oase im historischen Zentrum von Matera"

Schöne moderne Zimmer, riesige und teils begrünte Terrassen für gerade einmal 4 Gästezimmer. Nette Gastgeberin mit vielen Tipps. Die Lage ist perfekt, allerdings muss man auch das Gepäck erstmal über einige Stufen tragen. Die Unterkunft sieht man von überall, da sie mit ihren grünen Terrassen und grossen Bäumen direkt ins Auge sticht. Check-in war bereits um 11:30 Uhr möglich. Wir würden auf jeden Fall das Garden Zimmer empfehlen. Dort ist man abgeschottet und hat direkten Zugang zu den Terrassen.
