1) Because I waited until the last minute to book it and it happened to be Spring Break for the USA, it was the only available option (and even then I could only get the room for one night) but it was affordable enough. 2) There is no lift, but the night desk was nice enough to carry my bag up to the top level for me. 3) It is not luxurious, but the bed, bathroom, and wifi worked well enough for me. 4) The location is on the edge of a residential neighborhood near the University of PR, but it's also close to Paseo de Diego, a pedestrian street full of street art in a neighborhood full of even more street art. (If you want to be close to beaches or Old San Juan, this isn't the place for you.)

1) The bathroom is *very* dated, but that's fine given the price. 2) My room faced the back of the building so it had a window. At first, I didn't realize there was a balcony outside the window. Fortunately I had some underwear on when I opened the shade and there was a family walking past! 3) The bar across the street plays the same thumpy music for much of the night. I was fine with that since I was in the back, but it would have been a problem if I were in the front.
