Tropical Garden by TANIS

Great location, Tanis have good it all covered.

I believe this resort was probably beautiful in its prime, but it now needs renovation and maintenance. The only positive aspects were the attentive staff, the proximity to the Tanis fast boat, the beautiful Mushroom beach and a comfortable bed. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families with young children. I noticed someone checking in with a stroller near our bungalow, and there is a hill with many steps to climb to the top bungalow.

The bathrooms are in need of a makeover. The showerknobs are missing and in general very dated. They are also not soundproof, so you can hear your neighbour. The road to and from the hotel is horrible and is the worst experience I've had in all of Indonesia. You would think it would be easy to just pour some concrete, but I guess not. Additionally, the breakfast restaurant sometimes smells like sewage, and the public bathroom is disgusting and also one of the worst I have ever seen. I would recommend avoiding this place till they've received enough feedback to actually carry out some maintenance.

Location was great. Bed was comfortable. Good breakfast.

We experienced a rat in the roof during both nights if our stay. Second day we had no hot water for our shower. However once we mentioned this they were quick to fix it. Towels could do with an update as very worn.

The location was excellent and the pool in the garden was nice. The garden was very nice and staff were flawless.

Facilitates were dated and furniture in the room needs to be repaired or replaced.

The breakfast itself was okay, but when I ordered in Indonesian for a telor goreng matang - what means a double fried egg - they always served me first a telor goreng mata sapi - what means a single fried egg. so, it always had to be brought back to the kitchen After getting the omelet of fried egg I had to ask every time again for the salt and pepper. They did not bring it themself to the table. Also asking for one extra toast caused a lot of confusion among the serving staff. The restaurant staff is young and maybe too unexperienced for a more flexible service.

Before I booked I saw on the pictures in the website that there are rooms in which the air-conditioning is placed in the way that the air does not blow on the bed. So, a week before our arrival I contacted the hotel staff about this. I asked to give us a room with an air-conditioning which does not blow on the bed. When it is blowing on the bed, I get sick. The female staff member confirmed that she noted my question. When we arrived that staff member recognised my telephone call and my special request, but the housekeeper brought us to a room in which the air-conditioning just blows on the bed. He was not informed about our special request. He had to find another room for us. When we were installed in that room the lock of the room door did not work in a proper way. That made that we had to move to another room. In that room the bathroom was not maintained for years. When using the tap at the washing basin our feet also got showered. In the bathroom there were no hooks at the wall for hanging the towels on. At the swimming pool the shower did not work anymore. So, I could not shower outside before and after swimming. A housekeeper told me that the outside shower was already broken for a longtime. The road you have to take to reach this Tropical Garden is so broken that it is actually to dangerous to take it by walking or by motorbike. By car your body gets totally shaken.

Location location location, right at the beach where speed boats arrive. Lots of restaurants close, friendly and helpful staff, they organise a scooter for you, medical staff or whatever u need. Loved it there.
