The Brower House on The Mississippi River

Very unique and cozy place. Very charming. Facilities are great for our one night. If you are looking for a different place to stay that’s much more home like, then this is it. Just wished O had met the owners.

Older home. Lots of projects. And they are definitely working on it and could see how our contribution was helping them to get some new things done- liked that.

I like the location and set up

Not being able to smoke on property

Clean, quiet, all around pleasant

Access to river and various water activities is a bit more complicated than suggested.

Nice older home with a view of the river. Very quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed the patio and porch.

stayed only for TWO HOURS, but they wouldnot want to refund. The booking confirmation indicate Triple Room, with PRIVATE BATHROOM. When arrived the property around mid afternoon and were assigned Rm B which is not a TRIPLE ROOM and DOES NOT HAVE PRIVATE BATHROOM, instead room with shared bathroom. More so, the mattresses is too high that we need to step on a small couch to reach the bed. I called Dan at once regarding my concern- and he mentioned if we dont like the room, we can just book ourselves in Best Western. After calling him again, he mentioned that there is a cabin outside the main house where we can also use it aside from Rm B- when i went to see the cabin, there was no bathroom. I called him again for the 4th time, Dan and his wife arrived the property. His wife showed us Rm D with a private bathroom , with bed too high as well ( where the wife offered us STEPS to reach the bed) , but because for Dan being very hostile and misrepresented the confirmation, we decided not to stay. I questioned his wife regarding their description of the rooms in Booking.com seems not correct. The wife answered that they requested Booking.com already for the revised the details. I asked if there is any refund, of not staying at all, the wife replied that it depends on Booking.com. I called Booking.com few days after and talked to Ms Emerisa who is quite accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately, booking.com already pay/remit to Dan. MY QUESTION is HOW COME THE WIFE ASKED US TO CALL BOOKING.COM TO INQUIRE REGARDING REFUND WHILE THE PAYMENT IS ALREADY WITH DAN- ANOTHER MISREPRESENTATION. I emailed Dan to tell him of what I found out from Booking.com that the property owner is in charge of putting description on the listings which Dan put the blame on Booking.com. His replied was WHY DO I LET MY DAUGHTER CONTROLLED ME ON MY DECISION OF NOT STAYING AND SHE IS VERY UNGRATEFUL. DAN IS NOT QUALIFY IN THIS BUSINESS.

Lovely house set on the banks of the Mississippi river. So warm and full of character and we had amazing views. Dan was an awesome host and we had a wonderful time at this place. Loved the dogs too!

Honestly we weren't too sure about the shared bathroom thing but it turned out perfect in the end!
