The Black Chalet

The Black Chalet is set up on a hill with beautiful, wall to wall, views across Mercury Bay. Quiet property with plenty of space for our group of 5 adults. Accommodation is set in 3 double bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and large living and dining space with a fully stocked kitchen. There were outdoor spaces but we weren't there long enough to spend time there. There are laundry facilities too. There are stairs up to main living area and a steep drive but do-able even in a small car. Whitianga, 5 mins away, is great for restaurants and shops including large supermarkets for supplies. You can also catch the ferry across to hike to Lonely bay. Coromandel Town is a nice half day visit and Driving Creek Railway was a highlight. Close by is Hot Water beach and Cathedral Cove. We had a small hiccup on arrival which the owners sorted quickly and graciously. Thank you for a great stay.

Great location and enormous views from the lounge and kitchen. Huge bedroom on upper floor, two other double bedrooms. Good laundry and garage. Excellent kitchen facilities. Very comfortable and spacious lounge which included games and books.

Very steep drive, might be a problem for some cars.

Great location with excellent views. The Black Chalet was very well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The hosts left some very nice local beers and wine which was a nice touch. Hope to return!

Die Küche war nicht ganz sauber. Es gibt keine Mückengitter an den Fenstern.
