"Heel schattig, maar veel te klein bed"

7.0

"Welcoming cottage"

9.0

Delightful cottage - everything we needed. 2 bathrooms were a bonus. Location ideal for exploring South Downs and surrounding areas

The TV defeated us! Not designed to easily access bog standard BBC and ITV channels which was all we wanted.

"Great holiday stay"

9.0

Excellent location -- quiet but very close to town, and exploring the area. The cottage itself is very cozy and quiet, has all the amenities one might need. It was very easy to book and check-in as well.

The bed is not very comfortable, and makes squeaky noises at your every move, so if someone is a more sensitive sleeper -- might need to adjust.

"Exceptional"

10.0

A charming little get-away in a charming corner of Eastbourne just minutes away from the charming south downs and spectacular views. This venue would especially suit outward bound, nature loving types (and cyclists!), with its winding uphill path to a bronze age barrow and a triangulation point overlooking Eastbourne and Hastings in the distance. The whole area has a wildness: the vast deserted stony beaches between Hastings and Rye, many country parks and rolling meadows veiled in ancient forest and laced with wandering paths to mysterious destinations, under huge skies and before impressive vistas. Nearby attractions include the 1600 year old Wilmington ewe in it's utterly charming churchyard setting, the Long Man, Alfriston church and obelisk, Lewes Cliff industrial estate (a great spot for yet another and wholly unexpected awesome view and the best coffee and cinnamon buns, weirdly!) Then 'home' (as you will immediately wish it was!) to the cottage which sets the standard for cozy, and so naturally it seems without trying! For self-caterers you will need to bring all kitchen basic ingredients (salt, ice, oil, butter...) but otherwise it is well equipped (including washing machine, dish washer, cafetiere, coffee-pod machine, but no food processor.) The shower takes pride of place in the roomy bathroom. I'd say it was in the top 3 of my shower experiences! There is an M&S and Tesco express 10 mins walk up the road. We advise you to walk, or you will miss the impressive local architecture. Is there a cherry on this awesome cake? Yes! It is right next door: the Red Lion pub which has a great garden. Also, we did not find parking to be any problem whatsoever.

My partner did say that the lack of a lock on the bathroom door did bother her, but then she comes from a big family!

"Stunning cottage, quiet and peaceful location."

10.0

An absolutely beautiful little cottage and the perfect setting for a quiet and relaxing weekend break. My friend and I enjoyed two nights here and we didn’t want to leave! Everything was fantastic about our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and was lovely and cozy. We only ventured as far as the pub up the road for a quick drink because we enjoyed the comfort of the cottage so much. Despite being near to local amenities, the property was set back from the road so was quiet and private . It was a great place to relax and the kitchen was well equipped to cook meals. We will definitely return in the future.

We loved everything, it was faultless!

"Great short trip to Eastbourne area."

10.0

Great cottage in a very good place, very clean and comfortable having everything we needed in a lovely village (Thai restaurant and takeaway 5mins walk away, lovely food). Nice surprise of chocs and wine left for us. Hopefully we can return.

Nothing really
