- great location, walking distance from many restaurants etc - beautiful designed bathroom, high ceilings - friendly staff - nice touch with the coffee maker

- the place is also a cafe, rooms are next to the patio of the cafe - you get a key to enter for the evening as there is no staff (it is a cafe) - quite expensive as there are no other facilities

Nice decor

This is the first time we write a negative review for an accommodation, but our experience was really bad and I hope this will help future guest avoid our mistake staying there: During our stay, we encountered the following problems (see some pictures attached): - The appearance of a cockroach in the bathroom. Before disappearing into the gap under the sink (see picture), the cockroach ran on our towels, the vanity and the floor. - Both the body and feet towels had several visible stains and holes - The shower water flow in the shower was intermittent. - The showerhead also showed considerable rust. - The desk and bookshelves had stains and food crumbs that we had to clean ourselves upon arrival. We have been fortunate to travel extensively, and this is something we have never encountered before. We informed the staff about what had happened with the cockroach, and the stains and holes in the towels and although they thanked us for letting them know, no type of compensation was offered for such a situation. We reached out to the hotel via email, who initially offered a 20% discount. We told them that though we appreciated the gesture it seemed insufficient (we had paid $200 USD/night there!! ) and kindly requested to please receive a 50% discount since we were not able to even use the towels because of the cockroach. Since then, we have not received a single response to that email or the following emails we sent. Please note that the day before we stayed in a four star boutique hotel just two blocks and half from there for even less money ($220 USD/Night), and with IMPECCABLE service. As Oaxaca has such excellent hotel offers, I would suggest staying elsewhere.

High ceiling, unique building and very comfortable bed. Good location with quiet and peace

Not a lot of privacy as the cafe outside run from 9am-4:30pm. Once you open the door you see customers from the cafes. Hot water is limited in the shower. I would say is a bit overpriced for what you getting. It feels more like and air bnb then a hotel

While booking this you have to make sure you understand it is NOT a hotel. It is like an bnb but with someone cleaning it every morning. (Not a BNB since the cafe connected is not open off season.) That being said, Kiyo Studios was a cute studio in a very nice area. Very well connected to all the places around. We had quite a late check in, still someone was there to let us in. They are very communicative over text and will assist you with everything you need. Theres a kettle, coffee machine, fresh drinking water in the courtyard. The area it’s located in is definitely one of the biggest perks. It’s very clean and the design of the space it self is amazing. The high ceilings are quite impressive.

Our shower was badly clogged and we let them know and it was fixed first thing in the morning. It is right by the street and they offer ear plugs but if you’re from a city it’s not very invasive. There was a tapping sound that sounds like knocking on wood which perhaps was an insect but initially really spooked me. The flush takes ages to refill.

Beautifully designed space, very clean, and within a great cafe. Feels like a special experience to have the atrium space to yourself after-hours. One of two guest rooms, which creates a quiet and chill atmosphere. The cafe also serves delicious food and drink which is super convenient for starting your day. Really close to the central areas and restaurants. Plus the staff (especially Janni!) was kind and helpful.

This didn’t end up being an issue, but you have to wire them half the fee ahead of time, which felt a bit sketchy and unusual but it all was fine.

Gorgeous design, super safe, wonderful shower.

Ceilings are very high so the AC was not very cold.
