Posada El Jardin

A tropical surprise in the middle of the city. Beautiful garden with the pool and our rooms at the side. Parking was great, we had the car in the little square behind the gate. When you arrive you must ring the bell with the cord at the fence, this was not really clear but the neighbor helped us. There were small refrigerators in the rooms so we could keep our drinks cold. Just a 5 minute walk tot the main square / zocalo. We stayed 2 days before Christmas and the town was buzzing with a Christmas fair, lots of music, parades and the church was open for mess and beautiful enlightened. The next morning there was a breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, small breads and coffee and thee, a great way to start the day.

Teresa is amazing, she gives good recommandation and took care of us! The garden is beautiful and there is maya art in the house. 5 minutes walk From the center/church with a lot of action everynight and an excellent hot chocolate. I’m not sure it’s in the description but there is coffee/tea, pastries and fruits included every morning…we spend 3 nights there, exploring the pyramide around in the morning and swiming in the pool in the afternoon.

Nothing, as we are backpackers and knew the kind of room and bathroom that you find in rural Yucatan.

The bed was comfortable and the room was large with an effective air conditioner and good WiFi. The owner offered useful information on cenotes and where to eat

Hard to recommend as the hotel is run down and unfinished (empty shells of rooms), with an unappealing pool and tired decor. It is also in a very noisy area (dogs barking through the night). The showers were cold - we never managed to get any hot water over two days. The breakfast was basic (just tea/coffee, fruit and sweetened breads) so we walked round the corner to a cafe

Extraordinarily beautiful peaceful and quiet. Beautiful garden setting is magical. The pool is a jewel. Wonderful staff perfect breakfast.

No hot water very little water pressure but this is common in rural Mexico and not a problem. Just be advised.

Our room was actually a bedroom, bathroom and a living room with a small kitchen like space (no cooking facilities just fridge). We were surrounded by trees and nature despite the fact that Posada El Jardin is located in the city centre. There are restaurants and shops walking distance from the place, and with a car (or a motor taxi) you can get anywhere in 10 minutes. The room was comfortable, fresh towels and linen, toiletries, air-conditioning, wi-fi anything you would expect. It's a rustic style and it may seem dated but actually it has its charm. The owner is very kind and helpful.

The gardens and pool, seating areas were magical. Roman, the owner of, gave us an excellent, informative, helpful information session about the town. Really made a difference. He was also always there for whatever we needed.

The lighting is bright in the rooms. Maybe get some bedside lamps? Also, could use more decoration. In my opinion it was not a big deal as the gardens and breakfast made up for it totally.

Comfortable, interesting, good price

A quiet and nice garden surrounding. The host is friendly. We would go back again.

IT HAS GREAT POTENTIAL. STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY.

IT JUST NEEDS SOME TLC, CLEANING, WALL COVERINGS, AND LIGHT SHADES.
