We loved our stay at El Jardin. The place is beautiful, the staff are great and helpful. We especially appreciated the swimming pool in the hot May weather. The accommodation was great, with a bedroom and living room. We recommend this establishment 100%.

Everything was perfect!

"Poor"

3.0

Loved the local honey that was provided with breakfast. Breakfast was ok.

Lousy lighting. No mirror in the bathroom...hard to shave without a mirror. Strange little place...we were instructed not to put used toilet paper in the toilet and flush it away...rather, put in in a plastic bag inside a small garbage container. It's obvious that Booking.com has never visited this place. However, it was easy to see that in 1967, this place would have been anice place to stay.

Perfect location, hideaway in the village, surprisingly quiet. Nice pool in the middle of a garden. The host was always ready to please you. Authentic village with plenty to discover around. Would go back

"Not great"

4.0

The breakfast had a very delicious fruit plate and good coffee (with real milk available). The host, Roman, was very sweet but we struggled with communication because of my limited Spanish. Teresa, who also works there, is lovely and very helpful. The pool is beautiful and there are beautiful plants (including a spectacular blooming orchid) on the grounds.

This inn has seen better days. Maintenance has been seriously deferred. Our bed and pillows were hard, the ceiling fan was dirty, paint was peeling, water pressure in both sinks nearly non-existent. There was quite a bit of junk around the grounds.

"A room in a small paradise with breakfast as a surprise"

9.0

Posada El Jardin is hidden in the town of Ticul. Fortunately, the (very nice) hostess was at the entrance gate, otherwise we would have driven past for a third time. We were able to park the car in a spacious parking lot inside the fence. The rooms are spread out in a beautiful garden, we had room 5. Very quiet, ideal, we slept well. The rooms, with air conditioning, are very simple but neatly clean. To our surprise, we received a delicious breakfast at no extra cost; coffee, fruit juice, fried egg and various pieces of bread. Very good, simple B&B with a very reasonable price for visiting the many Mayan complexes in the area.

This is not a complaint, but an advise for visitors of Ticul. Ticul is a town where tourists - and restaurants with evening hours, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays - are rare. Ultimately, after searching, only Pizzeria Gondola (and an ice cream shop) turned out to be open from the list we had received from the hostess.

"Felt incredibly far and remote. People seem to live happy and survive with very little money… I was just passing by but"

8.0

Small oasis (in the making) inside a very old 1600’s town. Owner ans creator, just passed away. His very brave son, Roman, is taking care of the small hotel, doing all he can to keep his late farher’s dream operational. Can’t help but feel emphaty and wish luck to young Roman.

Depite best efforts, the property lacks enough cash flow to be finished. There are five or six operational rooms, three or four still in contruction. That is NOT neccesarily bad… you just have to be “calm” about it and consider this is a very poor and small town in the middle of the Yucatan jungle.
