Big Cats Namibia Farmstays

We visited Rolf’s and Rachel’s farm as our first stop after arriving in Windhoek and what can we say: their place is absolutely phenomenal. A spacious family home with a well-equipped kitchen with proper knives, kitchen tools, food containers, a pizza oven, a barbecue station (all of which makes a huge difference when you enjoy cooking during your vacation!), a cozy fire pit to chill at night, a mini pool to cool down when it gets too hot, a perfectly designed bedroom that stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We got picked up at the gate upon arrival, lots of personalized recommendations both for Etosha and the rest of our stay, and we wrapped our visit up with a game drive and sun downer we won’t forget anytime soon (lots of wild animals and a cold beer included!). Rolf and Rachel are fantastic hosts that go above and beyond for their guests. Their love for the wild and their country really imprinted on us. We had a perfect bushveld experience with off-grid living... rustic charm with a luxurious touch. Our beds were wonderfully comfortable too. We were fortunate enough to a see a variety of antelope, some warthog, zebra and giraffe at the watering hole, a mere 70m from the spacious veranda. Etosha is close enough to make a day trip of, and still be back in time for a magical sunset by a crackling fire with wildlife on your doorstep... Or a sunset / night game drive on the farm. The guesthouse was also very accommodating for our young children, and the cool down pool was a big hit.

A little different to find, but got there in the end.

No negatives, apart from being hard to find initially.
