USBeautiful property tucked in a calm and green area surrounded by nature and animals sounds (monkeys and peacocks!). Good location, easy walk into the town and a cheap tuktuk back and forth. The room was super clean, spacious, and one of the nicest ones I've stayed in (no ants - big perk), free fresh water, clean towels, and nice and clean kitchen. For the shower, there was decent hot water. Good wifi inside and outside. As a solo traveller, the shared spaces were great to just have an ambience around and I felt really safe - there's a gate and friendly guard that watches the property so I felt comfortable coming back home late which I don't always in other countries. The staff and owners were so kind and welcoming, they make you feel right at home and help you with whatever you need. They've helped to connect me to an airport shuttle, their neighbor's trustworthy tuktuk ( I ended up using him throughout my stay, even when I left Makai) and they always had a spare umbrella I could borrow! The outdoor cafe was my favorite part, it was so nice to walk out and have a nice atmosphere to eat, read a book or work on my laptop. Also the food was delicious!
