"Excellent"

Atmosphere of the place is great. Grounds were excellent to relax in. Good parking. Location perfect for local restaurants, pubs and shops plus St Laurence Church. Very good for exploring Bath as well as it's close to the railway station.

Only improvement would be a better range of breakfast options.

"Fabulous historic stay!"

10.0

What a privilege to stay in such a historical treasure and support this trust in some small way. The spotless Moulton room was huge and fabulous. The incredible four poster bed was extremely comfortable and it's such a peaceful location, it would be difficult not to have a great night's sleep. Christine was super-helpful and a pleasure to met: her passion for the house/trust shines through. The tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge and table and chairs to eat your little continental breakfast at were great too.

"Not at all what you are led to expect"

3.0

I think I've never written a Bad Review for B.C but here goes my first. I have enjoyed staying at posh country house/manor/palace hotels through B.C (like Ashford Palace in Ireland) and felt that I had been lead to expect that type of experience here. Certainly the exterior photos of the stunningly impressive property led me in that direction. I was shocked and disappointed with the reality. The exterior on 3 sides is the only grandeur here. (And that can be experienced gratuitously by anyone walking on to the property from the town streets and snapping a couple of photos.) There is a bit of garden on the 4th side but it is sign posted "No Entry". The.only interior experience of the Hall is a cramped and unimpressive vestibule just inside the front door. Your room is semi-basement with no stately home "atmosphere" and windows too high up to see anything out of. The property is totally digital so "reception" consists of a series of door lock combinations written out - one of which took me 10 frustrating tries to open. On arrival there just happened to be a.manager there for some non-related reason, who told me the property is actually a totally digital Air b&b. Never to expect to encounter any human on site. No hospitality, no local introduction or advice, nothing. But there is no 2nd "b" - no breakfast or facilities for one's producing one's own. The bland rather depressing room - the ONLY interior space accessible (and cramped "afterthought bath) was not a place to linger and gave no feeling of one being in a grand establishment so I fled into the rather nice town. I can understand their No Refund policy, for anyone somehow learning of the reality here would try to cancel. There is parking but the driveway exit onto the highway is frightening and very dangerous.

It was a depressing Bait and Switch Experience.

"Comfortable overnight stay"

8.0

We loved the huge bed and the location of the hall within Bradford upon Avon. The welcome pack was very thoughtful especially the individual croissants. It would have been better if there was a toaster or somewhere to heat them up.

The duvet cover had a couple of holes in. There was a lot of dust under the TV and on the mirror in the bathroom.

"Luxury and such good value for money"

10.0

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Exceeded our expectations. Little touches like the breakfast hamper were so thoughtful.

Water pressure on third floor can’t great, but this didn’t matter as everything else was amazing.
