Schoolhouse

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Blick in den Garten und eine kleine Terrasse im Garten . Das Haus befindet sich in absoluter Ruhelage. In den Ort ist es nicht sehr weit . In etwa sieben Minuten erreicht man zu Fuß das Zentrum . Cathy ist eine großartige Gastgeberin . Das Frühstück ist sehr umfangreich und liebevoll von Cathy zubereitet . Wir können diese Unterkunft nur empfehlen …

Excellent accommodation at the Schoolhouse for our weekend in Ballater. Perfectly situated a short walk from the village centre, the accommodation offers clean, comfortable and spacious rooms and communal living spaces. A lovely garden with choices of seated areas provides a welcome rest after a days walking and sightseeing in the beautiful surrounding areas of Royal Deeside. Breakfast is delicious and sets you up well for the day's adventures. Thank you to our excellent host Cathy for the warmest of welcomes and looking after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.

Herzlicher Empfang. Sehr gute Betreuung und sehr gute Gespräche. Insgesamt eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Es hat nichts gefehlt.

Fantastische Unterkunft, zentral und dennoch absolut ruhig gelegen. Alles wie beschrieben, können es absolut weiter empfehlen. Liebevoll zubereitetes Frühstück. Vielen Dank dafür!

The School house had great history and character, is located perfectly to explore Ballater and the room was clean and comfortable. Cathy, our host was so friendly and helpful and we loved having a chat with her. Breakfast entailed various choices including cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit and a cooked meal if wanted.

If only we were staying longer. We were only there for 2 nights but wish it was much longer. Ballater and the surrounding area of the Cairngorms is so nice and the Schoolhouse was a great base from which to explore.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour à Ballater grâce à l'accueil très chaleureux de Catherine qui est une hôtesse très attentionnée et conviviale. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et Catherine savait l'adapter à nos attentes différentes. Si nous devions revenir à Ballater nous choisirions très certainement Schoolhouse !

Location. Comfortable bed. Nice host

Something to make the room seem more comfortable. Still felt like a school room. Building is quite cold. Communal seating area was an acquired taste and not inviting. Wooden floors above meant its very noisy if you're below.Breakfast was OK nothing more.
