La Regina Historic House

Talk about a room with a view!! The view of Matera from the window of both the living room and one of the bedrooms is sensational. Photos can’t do it justice. The apartment itself has been tastefully renovated, combining both old and modern touches. Everything is beautifully appointed, there is plenty of space and the beds are very comfortable - the best we have slept on our entire trip. Once you have explored Matera, this apartment is the ideal place to retreat to and simply enjoy the view. Simona was a lovely host and easy to communicate with. I would not hesitate to book her apartment again.

This property is definitely a 10, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, fully fitted kitchen should you wish to cook while in Matera. wonderful old world furniture. Spacious bathroom with are really good water pressure in the shower. The MOST SPECTACULAR View of the Sassi. there are ceiling to floor windows in the sitting room and one of the bedrooms where you can enjoy the beautiful views at anytime of the day or night. Wonderful host, any questions we had were answered immediately. Parking garage (Euro 20 per 24 hours) about 10 min walk to apartment. Don't use Google Maps to walk to the apartment, pay attention to the hosts directions. We didn't and it took us almost an hour walking. up and down steps in the dark..... funny now but not at the time. When our host arrived to give us access to the apartment she felt so bad that we had hauled our cases all over Materas historical area and walked with us back to the parking garage to show us the EASY route. Coffee and a variety of teas were available at the aparatment and our host left us a bottle of really nice red wine to enjoy during our stay.

Nothing to dislike about thius apartment. However, I personally found the bed too hard, maybe a mattress topper and Softer pillows - this does not take away from the beauty of the apartment Somewhere to sit and relax outside, there is a lovely courtyard entrance, maybe a chair or two to sit outside.

One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in. Its location is stunning, with window views of Matera. Beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. Includes all one needs for a perfect stay.
