Montreal by Madhuban Inn

I didn't like anything because this hotel is a FAKE. Please check out the pictures that i took and compare them with what they put on booking.com. This is the actual entrance to the hotel, the corridor, the reception and the room. All positive reviews are bought.

Before arrival I was bothered and pressurised several times by the hotel who said they will not keep my room if I come at 7pm etc. Later they deleted all the messages from that conversation. I finally arrived at the hotel and was surprised to find the entrance very different from the photos. However I was tired and it was late so I went there. I was asked to pay for all of my booking (3 nights) straight away without seeing the room, in cash only, no international cards were accepted. I paid for half of my booking. Thanks God i didn't have enough cash to pay for the whole stay. In my room I discovered that there is NO window (it said nice view), that there is zero sound isolation, the air conditioning was very filthy etc. I compared the photos on the booking site and realized that this is a very shady place. The room is worth maximum 10 Euros per stay, 15 if you are greedy, not more. I ended up paying 50 euros for my one night's stay. The room boy who came to fix my shower gave me filthy looks. I did NOT feel safe there and decided to leave the following morning. I asked for a refund which of course they didn't give to me on the pretext that "the manager would then have to pay the commissions by himself" etc. I am sure this was a lie, however I felt pity for him and didn't insist anymore on my refund (it was pointless anyway). They made me cancel the booking so that i could not leave the review. I felt under pressure as a female alone in the room with 6 local males and just wanted to get out of there, so i cancelled the booking. It took me a while later to convince the booking.com team that I actually stayed there. Last not but least: the hotel is very, very far away from the nice touristy area of Rishikesh with all the yoga studios etc. That are is on the other side of the river. There is absolutely nothing of interest around it. If you are a single female tourist, do NOT go to this area of town.

I specially would like to thank Mr Deepak Chandola and his team. He went out of his way to make my stay comfortable. Although the location of the hotel was a bit away from Bharat Mandir (my main interest) it compensated by the gorgeous Ganges running close to the hotel and the nice elevated pathway built along the Ganges connecting various Ghats. I will always stay in this hotel for sure.

Comfortable. Friendly and welcoming staff. We had no issues. Good value for money.

The Manager and the staff were awesome. Our credit card was not working because we lost our bank ATM card and as we cancela the ATM cards the bank didn’t allow us to draw cash on the credit card. The manager founded an allied to help us find a way to get our situation resolved.

There is a very large dumping site right in front of the hotel and the staff don’t seen to get upset about it The entire hotel smells like sewege. The breakfast is set, no variety, and since they don’t have a breakfast area the breakfast arrived to our room almost always cold.

I had a great stay at Hotel montreal. The location is excellent, being very close to river and other attractions. The staff was extremely cooperative, polite, and helpful, making the experience even better. The check-in process was quick, and parking space was available, which is a big plus. Considering the price, the hotel offers great value for money. Highly recommended!

Breakfast could be ordered.

There were no towels in the rooms and no drinking water. The room service was very slow, the staff was shabbily dressed. There was big noise all through the night from the 2nd floor corridor, couldn’t sleep at all. There was no one at the reception to even make a complaint. The overall staying experience was really very bad.
