Bryn Melyn Farm Cottages

The property was well-cleaned and heated before our arrival. Collecting keys was super easy as the hosts lived on-site. The location has ample parking, easy to reach, and practical enough to visit other attractions. The hosts, Gulin and Steve, were wonderful people.

The shower cubicle could've been a little bit bigger. But we didn't mind it as we stayed there for only two nights.

Gu is a lovely host, she is very helpful and friendly and she will take every effort to make your stay a deluxe experience and home. Very comfortable bed and a quiet area, so good sleep. The cottage is superclean and the kitchen has everything you need, incl a dishwasher. There is a nice garden and a court yard with picknictables good for outdoor diners and breakfasts. The animals are a bonus: the cats, the geese, the chickens and the dogs, all very well behaving.

Quiet location, lovely hosts, friendly animals, very peaceful place with nature around! Me and my parents loved everything about it. The horses were great, also the little ginger cat was my favourite too :) I miss the silence already ! I'm recommending it to anyone who needs a break from busy city life.

We arrived at the property and were greeted by the host Gulin who was warm, welcoming and guided us through the cottage. We felt instantly welcome in the beautiful surroundings. The setting is stunning and we stayed at Y Gilfach for five nights and could have stayed for longer as the cottage is nestled in a valley of rolling hills and countryside. The cottage is one of 5 onsite and although each are different we felt lucky to have chosen the one with a balconette and double doors in the double bedroom Opening the doors on a morning gave us the most beautiful view. The cottages are beautifully and tastefully decorated. Homely and well decorated. The hosts Guilin and Steve are clearly passionate about getting hospitality right and invest time into ensuring that the cottages and surroundings are clean, tidy and meet expectations. Once in the modern kitchen, it's fully equipped from large equipment like a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave and washing machine. Right through to utensils, crockery, cutlery and cookware. There is nothing you need apart from food. The upstairs was immaculate, cosy and two double rooms and a spacious bathroom which are all lovingly decorated. An airing cupboard houses the hoover, clothes airers and an iron. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the heating was easy to use as a storage heating system so the host had shown us how to work it out. Thought had gone into providing homely touches with cushions throw blankets and hairdryer, hot water bottle and high quality plush bedding. Comfort has been thought about by the hosts and creating that home from home feeling. Outside the rear of the cottage is a well maintained garden area with a variety of sun loungers and seating to enable outdoor eating and relaxing. There is a firepit, a gas barbeque and plenty to see and do. Our surprise was found in the woodland walk to see the horses and ponies, chickens and geese on the farm. The whole place has a charm to it.
