Lion Gate Hotel Sigiriya

Nothing. I couldn’t stay there as they had overbooked. They were not at all honest about this in the first instance. Blamed a power cut. Sent me elsewhere. However the power came back on and when my driver took me back to this property the owner came clean and told us the real reason. The owner was a reasonable man but the manager did not treat me at all well. Most disappointing. I was however invited for a complimentary breakfast the following morning.

As per commentary above. It was nice to be invited for complimentary breakfast but disappointing not to be able to stay due to an error on their part. They did refund me but sent me elsewhere. Most stressful at the end of a long day of driving to be turned away!

Good location, only 5 minute drive to Lion Rock, close to Minneriya National Park, has a pool to cool off.

Bed was a bit firm for me but my husband found it ok.

Sehr große und saubere Zimmer! Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und versucht jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen.

Tout était parfait, le personnel était très attentionné. Nous avons eu le droit à un petit déjeuner tout de suite en arrivant tot le matin. Les chambres étaient très bien. Les petits déjeuners étaient variés.

The property was very clean, modern, well located, the staff very helpful and caring; excellent breakfast and restaurant
