Beautiful cottage in Brentwood

A relative of the owner came out of her property and told us it was open already

This property is headlined under 'Beautiful thatched cottage in Brentwood' - there is no thatch at all on the property! It looked a bit uncared for. There was no welcome book telling you where everything was - how to use the heating, the hot water boiler in the kitchen etc. There were no towels already in the bathrooms; we found a linen cupboard that was very messy and all the linens looked a bit worn and nothing matched. The cups and glasses and plates were all mismatched as well. The grounds could be lovely but again uncared for with a half finished 'moat' with a broken row boat in the bottom of it, odd bits of rubbish laying about in the woods. All the basics are there and with a little bit of work it could be outstanding.

Warm property. Olde worldy. Large grounds with deer in the front garden. Plenty of parking. Helpful host. Large property.

Stained carpet in conservatory. Rusty radiators. Toilet not working properly in 1 of the bedrooms. Having to turn WiFi on. Should have better directions to property as postcode takes you to an animal feed unit. 2 cottages on the property - had to ring the host to find out which one was ours.

Beautiful location, lovely big rooms, and fab sun room overlooking the pond. Loved meeting the cat, seeing rabbits and deer from the sun room, and driving in along the tree-lined drive.

Beautifully presented, very homely, lovely place to spend time with friends.

Nothing, was all great.

The property was ready for us when we arrived early afternoon and we were met and shown everything we needed. We specifically asked for a bbq and Rehana insured this was available for us, she went out of her way to make sure we were happy and had a great stay. The firepit was amazing too and we cooked marshmallows. Although could drive to Brentwood High Street and there were pubs close, it felt private and secure. There was ample secure parking too. Great facilities and everything we needed for our stay, thank you!

I loved the look of the property and location was perfect.

It was very untidy outside of it old fridge dumped on the drive. The property itself showers was very dirty. The owner contacted me as she said she had seen on cctv too many cars and asked if I was having a party which I told her twice I was not I had 2 mums drop there daughters off then take away delivered.
